Sony has returned a favor and is congratulating Microsoft on the successful launch of the Xbox One home console as both devices are at the moment offered in North America and other major markets around the world.

The Twitter message from the official PlayStation account states, “Congrats, @Xbox @Microsoft! #NextGeneration #GreatnessAwaits.”

It is nice to see the two rivals wish well to each other considering that the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are competing for the limited budgets of the same potential buyers.

The Xbox One is available in 13 core countries for 499 dollars and the only major problem reported so far has been linked to the Blu-ray drives on some machines.

The PlayStation 4 release was also solid and only a small number of hardware failures were reported, which Sony has pledged to replace as quickly as possible.

The new device will be launched in Europe on November 29.
