Developers will get extensive support to implement the feature

The team at Sony in charge of PlayStation 4 development is confirming earlier reports that all video games that will launch for the next-generation device will need to implement Remote Play for the Vita handheld or support for the Eye camera.

Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of the Sony Worldwide Studios, states via Twitter that, "Yes, it's true unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera. It will be great to play PS4 games on PS Vita."

A source leaked the information earlier during the day.

The requirement for PlayStation Vita Remote Play seems to be part of a plan to make the handheld relevant in the marketplace yet again.

It's unclear how many games for the PlayStation 4 will offer support for the Eye camera.

The new console will launch before the end of 2013.
