Sony Xperia users rejoice, as the Japanese company has just announced a new firmware update will soon be available for download.

According to a tweet recently posted on Sony’s official account, a new software update will be rolled out for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, and Tab Z.

The new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean firmware has been confirmed to bring display, camera, and battery fixes, as well as lots of performance tweaks.

Unfortunately, Sony did not offer any information on which firmware build it will push to the Xperia smartphones listed above, so we can’t say for sure if some users haven’t received it already.

We’re also waiting for the handset maker to issue additional details regarding the release timelines for this firmware update, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
