Unit 13 shooter also revealed, comes with extra connectivity

Video game publisher and hardware maker Sony has officially announced that line-up of titles that will be available on the European market when the new PlayStation Vita handheld will be out on February 22.

Gamers can already start saving up for the following games: Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048, Reality Fighters, Little Deviants, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Everybody’s Golf, Escape Plan, Gravity Rush, Hustle Kings, MotorStorm RC, Top Darts, Super StarDust Delta and Unit 13.

The big new announcement in the bunch is Motorstorm RC from developer Evolution, which allows the player to direct a radio controlled off road car on both the Vita and the PlayStation Network.

The game will apparently offer a blend of classic racing with the options opened up by modern handhelds, like multiplayer and social features, and will offer more content than the normal downloadable game.

Motorstorm RC will have eight types of vehicles and 16 tracks to race on, with up to four players taking place in the multiplayer mode.

Zipper Interactive, best known for creating the Killzone series of first person shooters, has also unveiled Unit 13, a shooter that has been built from the ground up with the Vita in mind, using its back touch interface for a more interactive experience.

The game offers 36 missions in 9 locations and players can use six different types of operatives, with different abilities.

Connectivity has been one goal in Unit 13, with players able to quickly engage with other gamers and even share exclusive levels with them.

Gamers can also use 3G connectivity in order to keep up to date with the performance of their friends and see new Daily challenge content delivered by Sony and Zipper.

Sony has said that Unit 13 might not be available on the exact launch date of the Vita but will be out shortly after.

The Vita will be launched on December 17 in Japan.
