Sony has decided to brag some more about its new PlayStation Move technology, showcasing not only sales numbers but also other interesting statistics through a new infochart posted on the PlayStation Blog.

Microsoft launched its Kinect motion detection system last week for the Xbox 360, almost two months after Sony unleashed its own PlayStation Move for the PlayStation 3 console.

A few swings were taken from each camp at their rivals, Sony criticizing the closed nature of the Kinect through an analysis of its own EyeToy technology, while Microsoft said that the Move doesn't bring new gamers into the PlayStation experience, unlike Kinect is doing with the Xbox 360.

Now, Sony decided to brag about its motion detection system even more, with the help of an infochart centered around the PlayStation Move, and what impact it had on the gaming public.

In it, a few interesting facts are revealed, like how more than 60 percent of people interested in a PlayStation Move already have a Wii console in their house.

The average age of people interested in buying a Move is 28, and more than half of them are parents, who are interested in the kid-friendly nature of the new technology.

Since the month of May this year, the purchase intent rate among current PS3 owners has more than doubled, which manifested in Sony shipping more than 1 million Move units in the first month of availability.

As you can imagine, Sony also boasted the portfolio of games that support Move, with more than 24 titles already available this season, and 14 more set to be revealed before the end of the fiscal year, spanning sports, family and shooter games.

Check out all of these statistics, and more, in the infochart attached to the article.

Have you experience the PlayStation Move yet? If yes, then what are your thoughts on Sony's new motion control technology?
