By both Hothead and Capcom

Do you have a European PlayStation Store account? Log in and see whether you can download and play games like Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix or the latest installment in the Penny Arcade Adventures series. Well, you can't because Sony seems to be a bit lazy. The games are to be found on the PlayStation Network in Japan and North America, but Europe for some reason has been overlooked.

Joel De Young, who is the Chief Operations Officer of Hothead Games, the company that worked on Penny Arcade Adventures, told a British site that “Sony's process for getting titles on PSN varies in North America, Europe, Japan and the rest of Asia,” while a Capcom representative stated for CVG that “That's a question better directed at the console manufacturers themselves. We have nothing further to announce at this time.”

It's weird to see that the problem is affecting a game like Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix from Capcom, one of the top sellers as far as downloadable games, released via the Xbox Live service and via the PlayStation Network, are concerned. Sony should be quick to capitalize by offering the game in as many zones as possible in order to get as many sales as possible.

Sony has admitted the fact that “this has been an ongoing issue” but offered no information on the period the above mentioned games would be available for those PlayStation 3 users who have a European account for the PlayStation Store. Sony should move quickly to change the way its internal process works to make sure that releases are available at the same time in all the areas of the world. After all, a game should be playable at the same time all over the world. Otherwise, people might begin moving to Japan or the United States in order to make sure that they get their favorite releases on time.
