Sony seems to be living up to its reputation as purveyor of many sorts of different goods, as its most recent move seems to have been in the field of LCD HDTVs, and it was a big move indeed.

Sony definitely seems to be getting its boots on as far as its TV business is concerned, or so it would appear.

One might thing a company would unleash one or a few displays at any one time, as was the case with the Q Series trio from Hyundai IT.

Sony was quite a bit more upfront, direct, blunt, whichever word best describes the unleashing of 37 BRAVIA LCD HDTV panels.

All of them will start selling before the ongoing month (April 2011) is out and at least one of them should suit the needs of any prospective customer.

Some might remember that, not long ago, the outfit was reported to have decided that web-connected TVs would be a prime part of its 2011 sales.

More specifically, half of all sold Sony LCD TVs will have some form of connectivity to the Internet, and this new release corroborates this plan. Simply put, no less than 32 of the 37 models have web connectivity.

What's more, 23 of the newcomers have support for 3D, meaning that their refresh rates are of at least 120 Hz (3D Glasses will be required, of course).

The hardware side of things is not the only part of the new announcement. Apparently, Sony also updated the Netflix interface and expanded the online content library, among other things.

Not only that, but even some existing TV sets have been or will be updated (Netflix enhancement), while connected A/V Receivers and Blu-ray Disk Players will get access to new online content, services and entertainment.

All in all, Sony is making most, of not all, of its new TVs Smart and will even bring older models closer to embodying this concept.
