Sony Online Entertainment has announced that it has banned about seven hundred Everquest accounts, with the players guilty of using cheats in order to advance faster than normal in the MMO.

Piestro, who is a community manager working on the MMO, stated on the official forums, “Remember that these suspensions are merely the first wave, and further action is on the horizon. We will not rest, but will instead continue to gather data and take action as necessary on behalf of the entire player base. Don’t cheat – it’s not worth it.”

It seems that Sony will continue to carefully monitor the actions of players and will issue bans for all those who breach the Terms of Service in order to become more successful.

Everquest is one of the oldest MMOs still on the market, being initially launched during 1999 and Sony is still delivering regular updates to the game and striving to make it cheater free.
