Loads of music for the owners of Sony Bravia HDTVs

Although Sony's Bravia Internet Video Link service has gone pretty much under the radar, probably in order not to pose too much of a threat to Sony's Blu-ray format, it seems that the Japanese company is seriously considering pushing the field of Internet downloads as well. And the latest move from Sony proves this trend quite well, since, from now on, the subscribers to the aforementioned service will be able to enjoy all the content delivered by the Slacker Personal Radio.

The Slacker service sports a huge library of CD-quality music across all genres, whether we're talking about classical or modern music. It can deliver a very large number of licensed songs and more than 100 individually programmed genre music stations.

By simply linking the BRAVIA Internet Video Link service to an online Slacker account, users can easily enjoy their own custom Slacker stations created online where they have fine-tuned categories to set artist, year, popularity and more. Additionally, they will be able to personalize their music choices across the Web, on the BRAVIA Internet Video Link module, on the Slacker G2 service.

For those of you who have never heard of the Bravia Internet Video Link, you should know that it's made possible by a special module that attaches to the back of a compatible BRAVIA TV set and streams on-demand entertainment, including hit movies, televisions shows, user generated videos, and a variety of other high-definition and standard-definition content not found on network or cable/satellite TV.

The module, which sells for around 300 US dollars, connects to the Internet via an existing broadband Ethernet connection, but it won't work with just about any type of connection, the manufacturers recommending at least a 2.5 Mbps one for it to work properly, a requirement that, unfortunately, might actually decrease its level of popularity.
