PSN members will be pleased to know that their promised 10% discount will be redeemable beginning January 23. Additionally, PS Plus subscribers will receive 5 more days of membership starting this month.

Sony has announced that all PS Plus members who were affected by the PSN service outage on Christmas day and several days afterwards will receive 5-day extensions, which have already started to be rolled out.

PS Plus subscribers won't have to do anything else just check out their emails associated with their PSN accounts, as Sony has promised that it will send an email in the coming days with a confirmation of details about the extension.

Back on the 10% discount, Sony has confirmed that it will be valid from 9.00am GMT on January 23 until 9.00am GMT on January 26. The promotion code for a one-time 10% discount off eligible items in a total cart purchase will be available in PlayStation Store on PS3, PS4 or via the online store.

PSN members can't use the discount on subscriptions

There are some exceptions, so you won't be able to use the 10% discount on several products such as subscriptions for PS Plus, Music Unlimited and rental videos.

Keep in mind that, if you don't use your 10% discount promo code until 9.00am on January 26, it will not be redeemable any more after that date.

According to Sony, PSN members can “use the discount on hundreds of thousands of items including blockbuster new releases, award winning indie games, game add-ons and season passes, pre orders, and an enormous selection of TV shows and movies to own.”

In case you haven't received any info regarding the promotional code, then know that Sony will announce it on PlayStation Store and it will be published on the official PlayStation Twitter account, so make sure that you check them both from time to time.

Update1: Sony announced that the 10% discount voucher can't be used on pre-orders. Sorry folks.
