Players will be able to get treats and play tricks on others

Video game developer and publisher Sony Online Entertainment has announced a number of special Halloween themed events for its line-up of MMOs, including DC Universe Online, EverQuest, EverQuest II, Free Realms, Magic: The Gathering -Tactics, PoxNora and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures.

In the DC comics powered MMO a new mission will take players to the sewer system to do battle with Scarecrow and his minions and earn rare items and get special Spooky Tokens that can be redeemed for a number of Halloween items.

Players can also get special pumpkin companions to help them in battle.

In Everquest gamers will be able to earn tricks and treats like the Jack-O-Lantern of Plenty, to summon pumpkins that can be thrown, and the Aura of Jack, which surrounds the player with lanterns.

In the MMO sequel players can go trick or treating in some areas of the game while costume illusions can be performed in other places, with players also getting special loot via e-mail if they choose to log in.

In Free Realms the in game event is called Super Spooktacular and involve a dance off between a vampire and a werewolf and a choice of new costumes and new mounts that can be used by players to scare their friends or get rewards from them.

Magic: The Gathering celebrates Halloween with new spells while in PoxNora players will get access to a number of special deals.

In Star Wars : Clone Wars Adventures gamers will get access to special costumes, themed droid companions and deadly decorations.

Those who hang out in the Lounge area of the Jedi Temple will also see a new Creepy Gate, which will grant players a special mask and the Rocket Rescue mini-game is also getting special content to celebrate Halloween.

The SOE wide Trick or Treat event takes place in all games between October 29 and 31.
