Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed that it will have a strong presence at Gamescom 2010, Europe biggest video games industry related event. The convention will take place between the 18th and the 22nd of August in Köln, Germany. Sony will hold a press conference one day before Gamescom kicks off, on the 17th of August at 6:00 PM CET.

Sony has also announced some of its exclusive games that will be shown during the time of the event. These are Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, inFamous 2, Little Big Planet 2, DC Universe Online, Journey, Motorstorm: Apocalypse and Sorcery. Which of them will have a playable demo on the show floor has not been mentioned at the moment.

Killzone 3 and Gran Turismo 5 are the big highlights, of course. Fans are hungry for more information about Killzone 3 because what has been revealed in the short time since its announcement has been regarded as quite spectacular. This is the first PlayStation 3 exclusive first person shooter that will be PlayStation Move and 3D compatible. Sony has only shown details regarding single player gameplay, so it may be expected that the company will also present some aspects from the online part of the title.

Gran Turismo 5 is the probably the biggest racing release of year, with a wealth of content promised by the developers alongside advanced graphics and 3D capabilities. During last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Gran Turismo fans were happy to finally hear a firm release date for the title, that is the 2nd of November 2010.

DC Universe Online is also finally arriving on the PlayStation 3, but also on the PC on the same date with Gran Turismo 5. A playable demo of Sorcery accessible to fans on the show floor would be quite interesting, as it is one of the titles that tries to do something original with Sony's motion controller.
