Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has made available for download new versions of the Album and WALKMAN applications for its Xperia users, providing them with a host of enhancements.

The new software releases arrive on handsets as versions 6.0.A.0.26 and 8.3.A.0.2, respectively, and should already be available for download for the owners of Xperia devices out there.

As XperiaBlog explains, the two app iterations arrive on smartphones with a new UI, which is similar to the one spotted on the updated Movies application recently.

Both Album and WALKMAN apps now feature a new sliding menu, which will provide users with fast access to most of the functionality they are looking for with a simple swipe to the right.

The new version of Sony’s Album application comes with a slideshow recall playback, which will display favorite photos at the top of the list, while allowing users to browse through images.

The updated WALKMAN app comes with dynamic layouts, while also providing users with the possibility to pinch-zoom in order to view more/less content on the screen.

Sony appears determined to provide its users with a brand-new experience on their handsets, and it might not be too long before additional applications from the company are updated, so stay tuned to learn the news.
