When the Sony VAIO Flip PC showed up at the IFA, those present there managed to have a look at the specs, but the company has been very skittish when revealing its pricing plan.

However, some Japanese versions of the devices re-branded as the Sony VAIO Fit 13A, 14A and 15A for this market, have showed up in the country, so we finally have the opportunity to catch a glimpse at Sony’s pricing strategy.

Beginning in late October, the laptops are available for pre-order, so Japanese consumers can order the Fit 13A for $1,340 / €988, the Fit 14A for $1,030 / €759 and the Fit 15A for $1,080 / €796.

All the three models feature a backlit keyboard with a 1920 x 1080 IPS displays, although for the 15-incher users can opt for the more shiny 2,880 x 1,620 resolution option. Sony offers a variety of Haswell processors for users to choose.

If this seems like a lot of money, the folks over at Engaged assure us that we’re going to see cheaper prices when the flipper hits the US market.
