This is definitely not your standard pair of binoculars

Full HD video recording binoculars, here's something that you don't come across any day, although this is definitely a nice concept now that I come to think of it.

Apparently Sony thought the same way too when it designed the DEV-5 and DEV-5K, two pair of binocular that not only offer Full HD video recording, autofocus, and SteadyShot technology, but also support for 3D stereoscoping video.

Users get to see the images recorded through two independent electronic viewfinders and on the inside there are separate images for left and right eyes captured by a matched pair of precision G Lens optics with Exmor R CMOS sensors and powerful BIONZ processors.

All the binocular setting can be controlled via a series of glove-friendly buttons placed at the top of the devices and both of Sony's creations also come with an on-board GPS receiver that automatically geotags video clips.

Compared to the DEV-5, the 5K model comes with a high-speed AC adaptor/charger, plus a high-capacity NP-FV100 battery. Pricing is set at $2029 and $2405 (1477 and 1751 Euros), respectively. (via VR-Zone)
