Sony unveiled the A7s camera in early April, but the company didn't say anything about availability dates and pricing.

Then, the camera showed up for pre-order in an UK-based webstore sporting the pretty huge price of £2,500 / $4,194 / €3,017 for the body only. Nevertheless, we were left in the dark when it came to the US pricing.

But according to a new rumor, the camera is going to be available in the US starting this July for the price of $1,800 / €1,300, says Camyx.

The company is expected to hold a special event on May 15, during which it plans to unveil the new Sony RX100M3 compact camera. So we can expect to learn from the source when the camera is going to become available and for how much. The A7s FE-mount shooter should also be announced at the event.

The Sony A7s comes equipped with a full frame 35mm Exmor CMOS sensor that favors boosting individual photoreceptor pixels size instead of pushing for high megapixels.

Under the hood, there’s a BIONZ X processor that’s capable of pushing 4K video through the HDMI port with 4:2:2 sampling. However, an extra recorder will be needed if you plan to capture 4K resolution, because on its own, the A7s is only capable of 1080p recording.
