A couple of weeks ago we were reporting about a possible Sony APS-C A-mount A77 successor that would be announced by the Nippon manufacturer in spring this year.

According to SonyAlphaRumors, a trusted source stated that the A77 successor would hit market shelves in June at a price of €1,200 / $1,640. If we take into consideration the latest rumors saying that the company is not working on an A65 successor, it seems that the upcoming Sony A-mount digital SLR will be the only APS-C format camera to be released this year by the PlayStation maker.

So far there's not much information regarding this new camera, conveniently called A79, but a few sources claim that the new model will not be just an incremental upgrade but will feature brand new technologies, including PDAF (Phase-Detection Autofocus).

With the CP+ show in Yokohama around the corner, Sony is expected to introduce the NEX-6/7 successor that will probably be named A7000.
