New rumors suggest we’re going to see the Sony A77II sooner than later

Earlier this month, I told you Sony’s A77 successor, which has been rumored for a while now, will apparently be called the A77II. More than that, sources familiar with the matter claimed the device would surface as soon as this spring and would be up for grabs in retail shops this summer.

However, the most recent batch of rumors is able to give us a clearer date to hang on to. Apparently, the Sony A77II will be announced in May. Specs are virtually unknown at the moment, but Sonyalpharumors claims the camera will sport a very fast autofocus system, no EVF lag and a very speedy processor.

The AF system is expected to be faster than the A6000 (which is reportedly the world’s fastest). On top of that, the May event will probably see a couple of new A and E mount lenses too.

Previous information claimed the Sony A77 successor would arrive in June, but it appears Sony is rushing things along, something that will only please users hoping to grab the new camera as soon as possible.

That’s about it information-wise, but more details will probably surface in the upcoming weeks. Maybe we will even get a confirmation about the new model’s name, because the A77II is only a theory, for the time being.
