As previously reported, the new Sony APS-C A-mount camera that is the successor of the current A77 model will be announced in spring, probably somewhere around April.

According to SonyAlphaRumors, the “A79” will hit market shelves in June and it seems that this will be the only Sony APS-C A-mount camera to be announced in the first half of the year, since a few trusted sources have stated that the company isn't working on an A65 successor.

Furthermore, rumors say that the upcoming A77 successor will not come as an incremental upgrade and will feature brand new technologies. At the moment, besides PDAF (Phase-Detection Autofocus) there's no other information regarding its possible specs.

At next month's CP+ show in Yokohama, Sony is expected to announce the NEX-7 successor that will probably be named A7000. Stay tuned as we try to learn more about the upcoming Sony announcements.
