The new devices made an appearance on the Korea Radio Research Laboratory

New Sony products are coming, but that’s not a big surprise considering the device maker is always cooking up something in terms of fresh offerings.

A couple of new Sony devices, going by the name QX30 and A5100, have been registered with the Radio Research Agency in Korea (as seen at Photo Rumors) so if we’re following tradition we should see them get announced in two to three months.

The Sony QX30 is the successor of the QX10 smart lens-style camera, and they are expected to come with support for 30X optical zoom and with an ultra-compact cylindrical body. The QX30 should also take advantage of NFC and Wi-Fi.

The QX-series is an atypical family because these are cameras that are to be attached to smartphones or tablets to be used by photographers as viewfinders.

As for the Sony A5100, this is an update for the Sony A5000 mirrorless camera, but currently there’s not a lot of info to be shared about it.

Since the new devices are estimated to arrive in two or three months, the most likely hypothesis is that we’re going to get to see them arrive in the wild at Photokina 2014. I'll keep you updated on the matter.
