Sony has recently amazed us with the world's first full frame mirrorless cameras and it's already rumored that the beginning of 2014 will bring a new NEX mirrorless camera as well as two new A-mount models.

Besides this great piece of news, Sony is rumored to develop a 54MP full-frame sensor that could power their future high-end digital SLRs and mirrorless cameras. According to SonyAlphaRumors, the new sensor is said to have 2460 focusing points with an effective focusing area that covers 78% of the whole sensor.

For now this sensor remains in development as Sony is trying to reduce production costs at a minimum before using it in a new line of A-mount and E-mount digital cameras. If all goes according to plan, the new 54MP sensor will see the light of day sometime between 2015-2016.

Recently, Sony Korea posted a teaser announcing a new Sony lens that will be unveiled on December 4. Stay tuned to find out more about the latest Sony cameras.
