Finally, Sony decided to step up in the mini-stereo concept area. Its latest addition to the company's portfolio are the NAS-D55HD, NAS-M75HD, and NAS-M95HD hard drive-based cool sound machines.

Besides looking like thy're ready to compete for "The Best-Looking Electronic Device", the new models offer a number of "digital age" capabilities, such as the ability to rip CDs or MDs directly to the generous hard drive. As for its design, it was created to suit all
kinds of tastes, therefore it is being marketed in various colors, including the funky electrifying pink.

Apart from the integrated capabilities, there's also a nice built-in big LCD screen, as well as two USB ports to connect to your PC and or to other devices, such as your favorite media player. They also added some Ethernet jacks for incorporating the stereo into a network.

Just so you know, the brand new models come in 80GB or 250GB storage capacity sizes, with either a "digital amplifier" (the NAS-D55HD) or a "full digital S-Master" amp (NAS-M75HD, NAS-M95HD), and 20- or 26-watts of raw, "bone-crushing" power per channel, as the fellows from Engadget like to call it.

Recently, Sony has also introduced the NAS-C5, which is apparently a wireless "hub," that can easily connect itself to the new audio systems in order to distribute their playback to various sets of speakers; besides, Sony's items are also compatible.

The fellows from Sony did their homework quite well, as the largest system version - the one with a 250GB hard drive - is said to hold up to 380 hours of music content, meaning it can also deal with some music formats, like MP3 or ATRAC, if you don't choose to connect your MP3 player via the USB slot.

If you're wondering about the pricing and availability details, you should also know that the stereos are going to available starting with October 20th and November 10th for price tags around $530 and $1100, respectively. The other electronic item from Sony, dubbed the NAS-C5, will be available on November 21st for a price around $260 a pop.
