Trailers and other teasers are on display

More Sony goodness is coming your way via Nikkei, in the shape of a snap shot featuring a PlayStation 3 kiosk in a Japanese retail environment. Hosted by the newly opened Bic Camera in Kawasaki, Japan, the impressive display unit is armed with four very nice Sony Bravia hi-def displays. Although there is no playable software inside, you can enjoy looping trailers similar to the Akihabara-based display unit which is currently running Afrika, Everybody's Golf 5, Genji, WarHawk and Eye of Judgment videos.

Original kiosk inscription roughly translates into: "In game corner demonstration exhibition of PlayStation 3. Actually it cannot play, but you can experience the fine demonstration picture." Fans shouldn't get their hopes up too high since the demo booths are poor substitutes for the firsthand PS3 gaming experience craved by millions. There's still no official answers about when will these giants come to US shops.

The huge obelisk walks in line with the often enough absurd and gratuitous exaggeration Sony accustomed us to, in ads and now in Japanese shops. None the less, one can't deny it's a crowd killed, with its high walls towering over the unsuspecting crowd. Fans hundreds of meters away can now properly acknowledge Sony ingenuity and pay homage to the elder PS3 god. On another note, should there have been real PS3s in there, shops would have witnessed whole mobs of random gamers stalking the site for days, in order to get a sneak peek at the launch day titles.
