If you are a iPhone or iPod user deciding which way to go for your wireless audio streaming needs right now may prove to be a difficult choice since Sonos just announced the WD100 Wireless Dock that enables you to stream music from your iPhone throughout the house as a response to Apple's AirPlay service.

Available right now, the WD100 can play music stored on an iPod or iPhone in every room of the house, where a Sonos ZonePlayer is installed that is, while simultaneously charging the device.

Certified under the Made for iPod program this wireless streaming solution is also compatible with a wide range of Apple devices such as the iPod touch (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation), the iPod classic and iPod nano (3rd, 4th, and 5th generation) as well as all the iPhone models ever built, including the recent iPhone 4.

Furthermore, Sonos' Wireless Dock can access music stored on any Sonos Controller, this device also coming with zone control as well as volume control (you can control what rooms you want your music to be played in as well as the desired volume).

"The Sonos Wireless Dock is the perfect accessory for our music loving customers who own an iPod or iPhone so they can play that music in any or every room of the home," said Phil Abram, President, Sonos.

"This new accessory reinforces our mission to provide our customers with access to all of the music on the planet, including everything available on their iPod or iPhone."

Already available, the $119 WD100 Wireless Dock may prove to be an interesting addition if you want to stream music throughout your house and you have already purchased some ZonePlayer units, otherwise Apple's AirPlay service (and the devices that use it) coming as the better option, although the choice is entirely up to you.
