As part of its biggest update ever, the Sonos Controller App has been re-designed from top to bottom to make your music controlling experience more enjoyable.

Sonos Controller 5.0 gets an all-new UI that lets you control your music with tools and settings designed specifically for audiophiles. Users can explore vast music services from popular favorites to niche locations. Users will get descriptions of available services in their country via the music service detail pages.

Version 5.0 comes with a universal search allowing you to go through all of your music services at once and find just the right tune for your mood. I’m sure there’s at least one user out there thinking, “thanks Sonos, we only had to beg for this like a million times.”

Moving on to Surround Mode, another perk bundled with the 5.0 release, Sonos is saying, “If you have surround speakers connected to your PLAYBAR, you can now change the surround setting for music playback (this setting does not apply to TV audio).”

New settings have been added to the Manage Music Library menu, including Schedule Music Index Updates, Sort Folders By, and Compilation Albums, while the Advanced Settings menu gets Wireless Channel, Audio Compression, and Auto Check for Updates.

VoiceOver is now supported on iOS 7, and iPad users are urged to note that they should uninstall their existing version before updating to the new one. iPhone and iPod touch users aren’t required to do anything except download Sonos Controller 5.0 and enjoy.
