Every now and then, Nintendo manages to surprise its fans with some real quality releases for the WiiWare or Virtual Console. This week, platformer fans will be very excited to hear that one of the most appreciated games of the early 90s, Sonic the Hedgehog, will make its comeback to Nitnendo's console. And that's a great thing, because nobody
would've imagined back when the game was initially released that it would ever hit a Nintendo console.

Sonic The Hedgehog for Wii was completely re-created - not just a straight port, this version includes new stages, bosses, some different zones and a level map, so even hardcore fans who kept playing the game will have something new. However, the most important difference is that Chaos Emeralds will now be found in certain stages, not in Special ones. So get ready to face Dr. Eggman again and have some old school fun! Everything for only 500 Wii Points!

The second title that will join the WiiWare lineup is the Mature-rated Splatterhouse 2. Another game initially released on Sega Genesis, the sequel presents the story of Ricky, the guy who has to face the Terror Mask, save his beloved Jennifer and do a lot of damage in a haunted mansion by punching, slashing, smashing and even chainsawing his way out. Horror and terrifying bosses await you there for 800 Wii Points.

Also, fans of the WiiWare will be happy to find out that Nintendo plans to release a Gameloft-developed title that will test your pistol skills. Wild West Guns is a point-and-shoot type of game which tasks you with a pretty straightforward mission: kill all the bad guys. The game also comes with a multiplayer mode that allows both co-op and competitive play. A system of medals and rewards is implemented, too, so you can be sure you won't put Wild West Guns away until you explore every little bit of it.

Actually, this version of the game was released on the Sega Master System and Game Gear. So while it's different from the Genesis version, it's still a straight port of the Master System and Game Gear.
