14 DAY TRIAL // SEGA has announced that its Sonic Dash game for mobile phones has just achieved the impressive 100 million downloads milestone for all three platforms (Android, iOS and Windows Phone).
In celebration of this achievement, SEGA and Rovio have teamed up to offer Sonic Dash players a very nice surprise. Beginning today, but for a limited time, Sonic Dash players will be able to run as an Angry Bird.
Players can collect Angry Birds Epic tokens to earn Red, Chuck, and Bomb playable characters. According to developers, a new Angry Birds character will be introduced each week, so look for them while you're playing.
Keep in mind that these Angry Birds characters are now available in addition to the already included in Sonic Dash.
Once unlocked, a character remains yours forever
SEGA also confirmed that this special in-game event will last for about three weeks. The good news is once a character is successfully unlocked, it will remain playable following the close of the event.
In addition, players will also have the option to purchase Red, Chuck, and Bomb using premium currency during the event.
“We were thrilled with the opportunity to work with Rovio on this integration. The expressive, colorful, and fun characters from Angry Birds Epic lend themselves flawlessly to Sonic Dash and really enhance the overall experience,” said Chris Southall, CTO of Hardlight.
You can now download Sonic Dash for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
For Android players, the game is available for free from Google Play store. It should be compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.
Last but not least, iOS users can grab Sonic Dash for free via App Store. The game should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 6.0 or later.
