Sonic CD Out on PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and the App Store

SEGA has announced that fans of the classic Sonic experiences can now download Sonic CD from the Apple App Store, the European version of the PlayStation Network from Sony and the Xbox Live Arcade service from Microsoft.

The publisher has also delivered a launch trailer for the game, pushing hard on the nostalgia element.

Gamers in the United States will have to wait until December 20 to get access to the same experience and SEGA has also revealed that it is working on mobile versions for the Microsoft made Windows Phone 7 and for phones that use the Android operating system, although it seems that Android users can actually get it in the app store right now.

Sonic CD uses the basic template of the character, with speed and spin attacks used to tackle the minions of Dr. Robotnik.

Fans of the series can also take a look at a Development Diary for the game, including a look at the sketches that were used as a basis for the creation of the game way back during the ‘90’s:
