Apple’s iOS 7 has been a supporter of extra gaming gear for a while now, but the games that actually work with controllers have been slow to roll out.

Lately, developers have picked up the pace, and the latest studio to join the party is SEGA with its furry blue mascot, Sonic. The company’s Sonic CD iOS port is now fully compatible with MFI controllers.

“Featuring Retina Display, achievements, leaderboards and the original Japanese soundtrack, experience the epic adventure through time that introduced the world to Amy Rose and Eggman’s most evil creation, Metal Sonic,” SEGA states.

According to the release notes, SEGA CD 1.0.3 adds “iOS 7 Controller support [and] bug fixes.”

You can download Sonic CD for $2.99 / €2.69 on any iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad that can run iOS 5. However, in order to play with a controller you’ll need iOS 7.
