Dave Reynolds came up with this wacky idea after having badly injured himself trying to get to the loo in the dark

Dave Reynolds of Pennsylvania, US, is the proud mind behind what appear to be the world's first ever glow-in-the-dark toilet seats.

No, really, this guy actually created a new generation of toilet seats that look perfectly average during daytime but that start to glow as soon as natural light goes off.

Why bother to create such bizarre bathroom furniture? Well, to rescue all those who don't want to turn on the light and spook themselves awake when visiting the loo late at night, of course.

In fact, Dave Reynolds says he came up with the idea to make glow-in-the-dark toilet seats after having badly injured himself one night while on a short trip to the bathroom.

“I went to the bathroom one night and literally fell off the toilet in the dark,” the man detailed the experience in a recent interview.

“On my way down, I felt something was wrong. I bounced off the toilet, fell to the ground and halfway into the bathtub,” he added, as cited by Oddity Central.

Dave Reynolds' company, Night Glow Seats, now sells green and blue glow-in-the-dark toilet seats for $49.99 a piece (€43.65) to people all around the globe.

Apparently, Dave Reynolds isn't the only person in the world all too familiar with the dangers of going to the bathroom in complete darkness.
