AT&T and Apple still having issues with the orders

The iPhone 4 orders issues AT&T and Apple faced last week have not come to an end, it seems. After having user accounts messed up, with customers accessing the accounts of other people instead of their own accounts, and with pre-orders being put to an end due to a “too high demand” for iPhone 4, it seems that AT&T has started to cancel some other pre-orders that were originally approved.

According to some of the latest reports around the Internet, various users were notified that their iPhone 4 pre-order at AT&T or Apple was canceled, and that they won't receive the device, without being provided with an official reason for why this happens. AT&T and Apple sent emails to many announcing the canceling of their orders, and there are great chances that the move is connected with the ordering issues reported on last week.

Some users reported receiving the following email from AT&T (via BGR): Your iPhone order has been cancelled. Your credit card has not been charged. If you believe you have received this email in error, please return to the AT&T store where you placed your order.

At the same time, other say that Apple sent them the following: Dear Customer, We were unable to complete the authorization process for your iPhone order. As a result, we had to cancel your iPhone order. To complete the purchase of your iPhone, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an AT&T company-owned retail store. We apologize for this inconvenience.

AT&T and Apple have had a lot of problems with the pre-orders for iPhone 4, that's for sure. According to official statements from them, most of these issues were the result of too many users trying to access their servers to pre-order the high-end device. Last week, Apple announced that some 600,000 iPhone 4 units were pre-ordered during the first day of availability, and even pushed back the ship date for units ordered the second day and the day after.

As for AT&T, it announced that all pre-orders for iPhone 4 had been suspended so as to be able to ship the device to those who already got their order through. Interestingly enough, it seems that the iPhone 4 is already on the road to those who ordered it in due time. “Orders are shipping via FedEx,” 9to5mac states, so there are some good news on this too.
