Prominent hardware review site AnandTech has an interesting analysis on the processor inside Apple’s refreshed iPad 2 tablets, which reportedly boast a different variation of the A5 chip.

The A5 applications processor inside Apple’s cheaper iPad 2 (announced during the launch of the third-gen iPad), is said to be smaller, to run cooler, and it reportedly drains less power.

That’s right, if you’re out for an iPad 2 after Apple failed to impress you with their Retina display upgrade (‘cause that’s pretty much all the iPad 3 is for regular peeps), you might want to look for the 2,4 model which allegedly shows an 18% improvement in video playback, offers 15.8% more time browsing the web, and shows a 29% improvement in battery life when playing graphics-intensive games, like Infinity Blade.
