Handsets are suddenly turning off and won't turn back on

Some of those who purchased the latest Android-based flagship device from Sony, none other than the water-resistant Xperia Z, are currently facing a rather strange issue with the smartphone, as units are dying in their hands, for no apparent reason.

Some of those who faced this problem report that the device switches off suddenly, and that it simply won’t turn back on, although a hard reset (power button + volume up) appears to bring it back to life in some cases.

While no specific pattern has been identified as of now, some suggest that the issue might be related to the microSD slot, while Sony claims that a battery glitch might be behind all this, XperiaBlog notes.

One way or the other, a fix will be delivered to users, Sony Mobile has already announced: “the problem has been identified and a fix for this will be implemented in next software update for the phone.”
