Apple has announced via its Support web site that the latest Final Cut Pro update has yielded new system requirements for producers.

Both Snow Leopard and Lion are supported, but there are some versions of the two operating systems that won’t work with the new FCP X, nor will they work with the recently updated Motion and Compressor apps.

The Mac maker specifically states that “Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3, Motion 5.0.2, and Compressor 4.0.2 have specific system requirements that you should be aware of.”

Producers can employ Mac OS X Snow Leopard v10.6.8 and OS X Lion 10.7.2 or later, but the company headquartered in Cupertino, California outlines that “OS X Lion 10.7 and 10.7.1 are not supported.”

Apple then stresses, again, that “these applications will only run on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and OS X Lion 10.7.2 or later.”
