While a small victory, it still reduces the number of contested items by three

As the legal counsels of Apple and Samsung continue their court theatrics in San Jose, California, the latter company has managed to get a few devices off the list.

The international versions of the Galaxy S and Galaxy S II have been excluded from Apple's lawsuit, along with the Galaxy Ace.

Don't be fooled though: this all sounds better for Samsung than it actually is.

The US versions of the phones are still subject to a ban, provided Apple wins, though a licensing deal and a huge settlement payment are more likely.

Given recent antics, Samsung might succeed in at least evening the playing field. It was frankly about time too, after the heavy blows it has incurred, particularly due to the judge rejecting certain pieces of evidence (not that the corporation was in any way dissuaded).
