Taiwanese and Honk Kong gamers will certainly get a PS3

The question on everyone's lips is whether or not Sony can respect PS3 launch dates previously announced. Some concern in that regard is normal, as the company already announced that they will miss the Japanese 100,000 units shipment target. Only 80,000 PS3s will be released in Japan.

Nevertheless, not all news are bad as Sony recently confirmed the Hong Kong and Taiwanese PS3 launch on November 17. No word is out regarding the US launch but let's hope that no news is good news. The 17th is also the launch date for North America, but I guess we will have some confirmation until then. Japanese gamers will be the luckiest on the planet as they get a chance to play on the console six days earlier than everybody.

There is also some official word about the PS3, as Asia managing director declared in a press conference, quoted by DigiTimes, that the 60GB version of the console will be launched initially, the 20GB version coming in December. The "fatter" PS3 will cost around US$ 545 and the 20 GB, US$ 454. Looks like Sony wants to target the mainstream with the larger PS3 but no word has come out on any Chinese online PlayStation network.
