Margrave Manor 2: The Lost Ship is a new and captivating hidden object game that comes as a breath of fresh air in the world of puzzle games combined with mystery and adventure. Just as the title implies, you can clearly figure out where the action takes place and what kind of adventure you are about to embark on.

As the story begins, you take on the role of Edwina Margrave who one day receives a mysterious letter stating that the lost ship belonging to her grandfather has just been spotted at sea after ten years of absence. Yearning to find out what happed to the ship, Edwina goes to the docks where she meets a young man, Tom, who is more than willing to assist her in getting aboard the ghost ship and investigating for clues.

As the first chapter of the game enfolds, you will find yourself searching through all the cabins of the ship in hope that you can somehow figure out what happened to the crew. As evidence of a barricade reveals itself within the lower decks of the ship, you also come across a locked chest belonging to your grandfather that unlocks a map leading to the secret treasure of Atlantis. While the treasure is still presumed to be on board, you go on looking for the rest of the pieces of the map that have been scattered across the ship.

The gameplay is no different from any other hidden object game; you still have to search for a bunch of objects and solve mini puzzles at the same time. From putting some gems in the right order so that you can unlock a chest to spotting the difference between two images, Edwina is faced with all the classic obstacles that you will find in a hidden object game.

What makes the game interesting is that it has a unique theme to it and all the objects are directly related to the background story. For instance, you will not be looking for lipsticks or matched shirts; instead you will be compelled to search for items that are more likely to be found on an actual ship. This is a fun way to learn about all the tools that sailors use on the sea and how you can use them.

Leaving the educational part aside, the soundtrack is like something ripped out of a horror movie. Although not very challenging on the diversity part, the game compensates by having a wide range of ambiental sounds that intensify the feeling of actually being on a ghost ship at sea. From seagulls flying above the ship to the squeaking sounds made by an old lumber boat, the game offers a lively experience when it comes to entertaining your acoustic senses.

On an overall note, the game is more than fun to play and entertaining at the same time, leaving you with a pleasant feeling at the end of it and with a little more knowledge about what a ship at sea should be equipped with. Not only that the mystery part is good, but the gaming experience can be more than pleasant and relaxing, especially if you are a fan of these types of games. You can try the game for free with the limitation that you can only play it for sixty minutes, or you can choose to upgrade it to the full version by paying the 19.99 dollars required for registration. Either way, the game is a sure way to having some clean fun and solving new and captivating puzzle games.
