14 DAY TRIAL // An Israeli soldier is being investigated for posting a picture that revealed he was targeting a Palestinian child with his rifle.
Once 20-year-old Mor Ostrovski uploaded the image attached to this article on Instagram, Breaking the Silence caught on to it.
The Israeli veterans' association made officials aware of the photo by posting it on Facebook with a damning caption. According to the Guardian, analyzing the architecture of the village seen in the background prompted the conclusion that the shot was snapped in a Palestinian conflict area.
"This is what occupation looks like. This is what military control over a civilian population looks like," they write.
The soldier's actions "are not in accordance with the spirit of the IDF or its values," Israeli military officials respond, adding that they are looking into the accident.
