Vito Technology have announced a special, Back to School update for their popular iPhone app, Solar Walk. Featured in Apple promo videos and boasting real 3D TV support, Solar Walk version 1.8 now brings more detailed Earth structure, 3D models of main satellites with real time trajectories and 3 new educational movies.

Solar Walk is the App Store's #1 educational app.

It presents a Solar System model that is as intuitive as iOS itself - fully functional and spinnable, with 10 planets (including dwarf planet Pluto), 10 satellites orbiting the Earth, 20 moons of the planets, about a hundred of the biggest stars, and hundreds of places on the Moon, Mars, Earth and Venus named by our scientists.

And you don’t have to wait for things to take their natural course. Watching the solar system in real time is almost like watching a still picture.

A Time Machine feature allows users to speed up the time back or forward in order to move planets and satellites according to their real trajectories.

However, the biggest new addition is 3D TV support.

In fact, Solar Walk is the first app in the App Store to support such technology, according to the people at Vito Technology.

“One can use the advantage of the hi-tech novelties to explore the Solar System, listen to the ambient music and become a part of the Universe,” according to the company’s managing director.

“3D TVs are becoming more and more popular among people but there are not many films or content that they can watch using 3D function of the 3D TVs,” he added. “With Solar Walk app they can enjoy flying among the planets of Solar System, man-made Satellites, even see our Solar System as a minor particle of the Galaxy.”

3D models include the most well-known man-made satellites: Daichi, ISS, Hubble, Suzaku, Envisat, Aqua, ERBS, CORONAS-Photon, SEASAT, UARS.

The trio of educational movies that has just been added describes the tidal phenomena, major circle of latitude, and zodiacal constellations.

“All in all, Solar Walk app includes seven movies that vividly explain most interesting phenomena and notions that make us understand the world around us better,” says Vito Technology.
