14 DAY TRIAL // Some disturbing photos emerged online yesterday, showing Beyonce's sister Solange in a very unflattering position. Solange was married over the weekend in New Orleans and the ceremony was attended by her famous sister and her famous husband, Jay Z, with whom Solange had had some troubles in the past.
The photos in question showed Solange's face, all puffed up in what seemed a nasty eruption of hives. Though the singer tried her best to cover up her face with makeup, the swelling was still visible and it made her life miserable during the reception.
Solange downplays her wedding hives, blames the heat
Today, Solange has bravely opened up about the incident that has caused her a lot of embarrassment, not to mention a lot of speculation from the media which theorized that Jay Z must be behind this, as a payback for the famous elevator incident where Solange roughed him up.
The singer denies that her skin rash had anything to do with an evil plot to poison her and instead explains that it was due to the heat and the humidity in New Orleans. She has also revealed that she toasted her new marriage with a dose of Benadryl, an anti-allergy drug.
On her Twitter profile, Solange wrote, “Yesterday, I had the best day of my life and ended it with an abundance of peace, love over flowing through me like never before. Words only understate the feelings I experienced, but I want to thank you for all of your beautiful sentiments. I'm now one, with the one... Last but not least... Shout out to Benadryl yo, Lol. Nothing was gonna stop me.”
The singer believes that her clothes and the heat caused her to break out
Evidently, one of her followers asked her how she got the hives and she simply answered, “Got em from turning up x100 during our second line. I was hot, wearing a cape, & happy as hell.”
Beyonce's sister married music producer and video director Alan Ferguson on November 16, in a lavish ceremony, and she did seem a bit overdressed. The bride wore an elaborate white jumpsuit paired up with a cape and a veil. All that fabric must have caused her to overheat and ended up swelling her face up.
Eyewitnesses claim that Solange was fine during the wedding and only began to puff up during the reception. Eventually, the swelling died down, but only after a couple of hours which must have seemed like an eternity for the singer whose most famous hit is the one she dealt to Jay Z in a New York City hotel elevator earlier this year.
