Solange Knowles, Beyonce’s younger sister, is known for her quirky fashion sense. At times, this can also mean she’s the kind of woman that would take a giant inflatable banana out clubbing, which is precisely what got her in trouble with the police over the weekend. TMZ reports that Solange, who is now working on a brand new album, tried to gain access in the Club Cameo in Miami Beach while carrying a 5-foot inflatable banana.
She was turned away at the door, which prompted her to call the cops. When they arrived on the scene, she told them she’d been turned away for racial reasons but that only made matters worse.
“Cops say Knowles became unruly with off-duty officers, who took her across the street to try and calm her down,” TMZ writes citing the police report.
“Solange claims that’s when cops pulled a ‘weapon’ on her – we’re told she claimed it was a knife – and threatened to deflate the banana,” the e-zine further writes.

Twitter page, Solange is singing an entirely different tune: she claims she called the cops because she didn’t understand why she wasn’t granted entrance in the club because of the banana.
The cops were the racists, she says, acting as if she had done something wrong.
“I have literally had my last leg with discriminating police! Miami police department will be notified. A police officer just pulled a weapon on me.... I have done NOTHING illegal, against the law, or anything of the sort,” the singer writes on her Twitter.
“I am simply tired of police using arrogance, ego and authority as an offense. I’m only tweeting this to raise awareness. I could have left quietly, but I am sick & tired of this scenario being played over & over again,” Solange adds.
“I’m ok. I’m safe & sound at my apartment. I’m just beyond frustrated with the system. It is time to do something about it. I am a mother raising a young black child in America. I’m going to die trying!” she says.
She reported the incident and TMZ can confirm that an Internal Affairs investigation is well underway.
