dots Summary:

dots openSUSEOn February 26th, Helen South announced the release of openSUSE 11.4 RC2, the last build before the final and stable release. As you can expect at this point, the release is pretty polished, though there are still some lingering bugs. Many though have been fixed in a recent Bug Squashing day.

The new openSUSE 11.4 RC2 comes with some fixes for WiFi drivers and supplicant. The announcement also touts other stability fixes throughout the distribution's infrastructure. openSUSE 11.4 RC2 mostly completes the transition from OpenOffice.org to LibreOffice. While the actual software should work properly most of the times, there are still some issues being reported. The documentation still hasn't been fully updated as well.

The KDE edition of the Gentoo-based live Linux distro comes with the latest KDE SC release, a recent kernel and up-to-date packages. Toorox has been a KDE-based distro traditionally, but a GNOME edition started being published last year.

As its creator explained, Toorox 02.2011 KDE is based on the previous release, which landed earlier this month, Toorox 01.2011 GNOME. It's based on the latest KDE SC 4.6 and provides QT-based alternatives to the popular GNOME packages.
