Dubbed Julia and based on the newly released Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) operating system, Linux Mint 10 RC features Linux kernel 2.6.35, GNOME 2.32 and X.Org 7.5.

dots UltimateAlso on Ocrober 18th, TheeMahn announced the release of Ultimate Edition 2.8. The new version contains lots of improvements, new themes, and many bugfixes. Ultimate Edition 2.8 is an Ubuntu 10.10 based release that comes with many updates and upgrades, as well as 12 new applications.

Ultimate Edition 2.8 also bundles proprietary drivers, to get things running out-of-the-box, and plenty of packages for the power users.

dots URROn Ocrober 19th, Andrew Zajac announced the release of Ubuntu Rescue Remix 10.10, a rescue and computer forensics Linux distro. The new version based on Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat). Ubuntu Rescue Remix (URR) 10.10 comes with the same simple command-line environment and updated packages.

Ubuntu Rescue Remi 10.10 keeps things simple. It comes with a bare-bones but powerful command line environment for those that know what they're doing and how to get the most out of the tools included in the distro.

The ISO can be burned to a CD, but you can also use an USB drive if you'd rather not waste a CD, or if you don't or can't use an optical drive.

dots PardusOn October 21st, Gökcen Eraslan the immediate availability for testing of the Pardus 2011 Beta Linux-based Turkish operating system. The new release was made available as a Live and Installation images for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. It includes a revamped YALI installer with an easy-to-use user interface, HDD partitioning, and support for LVM/RAID.

· On October 21st, Canonical announced that the Ubuntu Harvest project has been revamped and is now live again. Harvest enables Ubuntu contributors to find things they could work on, fixing simple bugs and updating packages that may not be getting the attention they need.
