I like the GUI. I think its more thought out than some of the other security software.

Just when I thought this site couldn't be any more perfect, you go and begin giveaways! So I stand corrected :)

I do not need a copy of Ad-aware but will say how good a software it is and has been in the game for a long time to fight the bad guys.

Whoever wins this will definitely be lucky.

Ad Aware is a no nonsense software given the exponential rise in malware. I have been using the free version satisfactorily for quite some time, and during the first run, the software correctly identified many often used flash games as potential malwares. I now feel much safer with Ad Aware.

I had used ad-aware freeware before and the thing I noticed initially was the all in one package. I did switch later to AVGfree malwarebytes free....Hope this is powerful enough and the detection rating is high in av-test.org after it gets rated.

ad-aware is awesome and high quality security product for your computer... its give reliable protection for your computer. the main thing is, it can run almost with any antivirus software like well known kaspersky,bit-defender,norton and many more paid or free antivirus. i am using ad-aware free with kaspersky internet security 2011,ad-aware is given extra layer of protection for your computer they 2 are combining very well.now i can use my computer very relaxly.ad-aware doesn't slow down your computer... and ad-aware also have high threats detection rate even kaspersky can miss that thing.. i recomended.

Adaware 2011 is good, It detects and removes those stubborn rootkits, but I must add that it consumes quite a bit of memory and sometimes makes my p.c come to a crawl. All in all it is a very good product.

i'm really keen on freebies as i'm short of money now. hope to get one this time

I would like to have a key.
My suggestion for this software would be that:
* Make it smaller size
* To not use so much system resources
* Better Detection rate like other Anti-Malware software

I would like to be one who tries Adware Pro. I've used the free version countless times as a secondary malware remover. The Ad-watch is a great feature that others like it lack.

Have been using this software for ages and it has never ever disappointed me.

It's one of the best anti spyware programs on the markets.
The scans are reasonably quick and the detection rates are good.
Cons: The size of the program is way to big in my opinion (124MB)

only differences between pro and free versions of ad-aware free and pro are rootkit removal,real time malware guard,realtime updates.That's all.so even if you are using the free edition,you will have the most core protection ad-aware has to offer. rootkit scan is not the best even among the free rootkit scanners and real-time protection doesn't take action until just before a threat launches.malware and virus blocking of ad-aware pro is good,free version is also as good as pro version at doing the same.

Lavasoft Ad-aware was the first anti-malware that I used some 7 years ago. It was quite light on CPU resources and effective in identifying malwares/spywares. After 7 years it is still the most sought after anti-malware/spyware. Really looking forward to use it once again If I can get my hands onto one of the giveaway licenses. I have used adaware for years and have always recomended it to both friends and callers to the tech support line I worked on. Always a handy tool to run once a week or when the system doesn't feel as snappy.

I have been using the free version of Ad-Aware for the last 7 years ever since I saw that it was the best freeware for protecting you computer. I have to say that Ad-Aware has save me from a lot of hassle and work more than a few times.

Because of how I feel and because many family and friends ask my opinion about computer related items, I recommend Ad-Aware as a required addition to their security software.

Ad-Aware might be a good malware software tool but it is also an extremely resource hungary hog. Because of this I stopped using it and switched back to Avast and Comodo firewall. As soon as Lavasoft gets rid of the resource hogging I may consider giving another try.

Ad-Aware Pro is a nice software. I am using the free version of Ad-Aware Pro with my antivirus software , Microsoft Security Essential and Ad-Aware Free is compatible with it without any problem. I have been using it with the last 8 months and i am really like it. But the Pro version is even better as it offer more features than the Free version. I would definitely very happy if I able to be one of the lucky winner .

I decided to try out this security software in order to remove a annoying rootkit that was messing up my computer's ability to detect hard drives. It woprked really wonderfully and allowed me to remove it without a fail, i don't need this either because i have an anti virus but this worked better than my anti virus since it was able to remove the rootkit. Ad-Aware used to be the no1 antispyware for a long time. But that time has gone and also Ad-Aware has changed too. It now offers many new features in the free version. A full Antivirus package based on Vipre engine. The Pro version is better in the enhanced real-time shield. I will be hapy to have a license...:)

I know lavasoft from early times...i was using as antimalware only or firewall program from my city LAN network (i was conencted on net with my ISP who was using at that time metropolitan LAN cables). The antispyware program was good enough as a free program, not consuming too much resources on system, good speed on scanning and detected the major threats on that time, but sometimes he saw other small tools beeing malware (false positives) depending on comportamental behaviour (too many)...the firewall was sincere, blocked all intrusions well but was too anoying at a certain point with the pop-ups windows or, the most important, not fully compatible with the integration (or disabling)windows firewall at that time(early windows xp) and had too much problems with seeing properly web pages or online games because of some issues with port fortforwarding. I was ending always to uninstall (online games, web page display correct or some extra security provided from firewall program).
recently i tried again the antimalware free program and from my experience compared with other programs in time from other companies (like symantec, bitdefender,panda, kaspersky, etc..) wasn't the best one but not even the worst.
ALL of them in my oppinion are using too much res, specially HDD one who bottleneck even more the performance on comps. Nowdays as cpu's are speedy, ram also and in excesive quantity for the most users the big problem is alwas the HDD queue when performing a full scan for example. I don't like to spend too much time on various coustomising variuos tasks, but i don't like automazing task either..i just want a program who can be LIGHT, cloud updated in real time with lavasoft and not anoying or problem maker when it comes to firewall ability. These days the common sense when navigating net is the part who is missing from ALL security suites. Good luck lavasoft...ahh, forgot...keep the price low if you wanna be the winner.

Lavasoft has come a LONG way and is now making some great products. I say don't hide the fact that Gdata is used for adaware total security and Vipre is used with the other(s). Great in house development and partnering decisions!!

I have been using Ad-Aware for some time. It detects viruses that other AV programs miss to detect, this happens many times when someone puts a pendrive in my system they say that they have some other AV and it missed.
The bad side is that it is more resource hungry and increases the startup time.

Have used Ad-Aware last year.I Was pretty Happy with its speed,performance,and extended features,which of course, make it a pretty good competitor against other AV-Products.But it certainly is not the best. Independent antivirus labs show that it really needs to catch up against vendors like Kaspersky and Norton with its detection rates.But excellent Suite for home/Personal Use.

Hackers hide there malware by encrypting with custom encryption, and using builders to change the signature of the malware into 10 000 variants.

Adware Pro brings relatively identical and limited protection of other AVs. Basically, the only relevant protection is virtualizers. Virtualize your downloaded programs, browser instances or even whole operating system. Malware is simply too sophisticated for any AV. Avast provides very good virtualization for free while only Adware Total at 50$ brings only browser virtualization. No advantage over Avast, in fact Avast is probably still better and its free.

I don't embellish AVs who simply either don't know what real security is, or don't properly protect the end user. Too many loopholes in your product, sorry.

To tell you honestly I haven't heard of your software before, so I'd like to give it a try.
I don't usually use trial versions except when I really need one, because I don't wanna give my laptop a mess by installing and uninstalling unnecessary softwares.

One of the best programs I have ever tried

Lavasoft Ad-Aware has been my favourite antispyware for years. From version 2007 on I stopped using it.
I re-tested Ad-aware AE, 8.3, 9.0 and 9.2, Good idea to add a basic real time protection in the free version as well as well as an antivirus engine, though I think that adding a web protection for all the main browser would be very nice (I do not mean the "internet explorer download protection, of course)

looks very well thought out i like the fact that you can choose to delete the cookies/clean the regit. the pic's probable don't do it justice. i run a free anti V now which is good i have no problems except i wish i could tell it to shut down after full scan no one wants to get up and turn it off after a scan really like the interface and i don't mind sending info back on dangers software

Ad-Aware is quite useless program today.

I used to have this over a year ago and just before my license ran out I won a year of Avast IS which is very good also except their firewall, which instead I use ZoneAlarm Free.
Ad-Aware has found some malware others have missed, but the best things I found about it was how easily it found and removed those rouge AVs, And most of all the ability to run scans in Safe mode which many scanners can't perform. Great giveaway!

I like it UI, Integrated support with Windows 7, and of course, the virus engine. It have a great virus engine that recognize new viruses spread today.

And also, it simplicity. Not too much take space on harddisk and RAM.

I am new to computers. I just got my first computer. As a newbie, I have gotten burned by fake anti-virus programs in my quest to find adequate protection. I cannot give a glowing account of the program as I am now finding out about it. I have been told that Softpedia.com is a trustworthy site for finding legitimate software. Firstly the size of the program @ 117MB is insufferably huge and takes up too much time to download - especially in regions (like Malaysia - where I am) where the internet speed to download anything is less than 100kbs - on a good day and during off-peak hours!

Simply the best antimalware of all time!

I used to use Ad-Aware as a secondary scanner and recommended it to all my friends. Then they made it impossible to use as a scan-on-demand program without uninstalling and reinstalling when needed, and the free version didn't do enough to manage ALL my security needs. I quit using it.

I would be very happy to try out the pro version to see if it offers a complete solution without slowing my PC too much. Ad-aware was a dependable addition to my PC and I miss it!

Ad-Aware is a thorugh and reliable program. If there is an improvement to be made it is in the daily update of threats. I would like to see the number of list updates and a graphical indicator to indicate a snooth proccess of updating. Thsisbeing principally a reassurance to the user that progress is being made. Unlike the previous Ad-Aware where a bland message essentially saying updating is all that is conveyed. Unlike quite a few competitor programs.

I've used Ad-Aware Free version to clean at least 10 different systems, both family and friends of spyware that was resident on their machines. It is a great product in conjunction with other automated solutions.

Since 1995, when yahoo started its serious chat room forums, there has been some really strange script, maleware, etc.. which has caused millions of anti-virus sales and still, we have problems. Ad-ware has been a busy little beaver during the times other safety applications couldnt help you. It found variants and morphing ad-ware very easily. however, it was marginally underminded by new mal ware and ad ware applications with the big advertisements and full blown sell campaigns. Thank you ad-ware for being there and still keep on licking the new problems of adware or malware script kiddies and malicious internet threats.

AdAware is an excellent product. I've been using the free version for years now, and often have friends call me to help speed up their systems. One of the first things I do for them is install and run AdAware. It's amazing how much of a difference simply clearing out all the advertising gunk can make on a system's performance.

The Free version was too good for me.It worked smoothly without any issues. The best thing was it never slowed my system .I would be glad if i get a free license.

I am a newbie when it comes to my laptop, software, downloads etc. But apparently I needed to activate a program when I first got my laptop so I can have security and protection. Well I didn't and now I am vulnerable to lots of things I have no clue how to fix. Long story short I spent all my money on my laptop and bills. I have no security and some how came across this site while trying to download JAVA. Ad Aware is what I can use! I would be happy with a free edition . I have nothing protecting my system as it is!

Ad aware is a necessity on any computer. Having used it constantly since 10 years, I would say I really require it now.

I have used Lavasoft soft for a couple years now. I have used free versions, and have always wanted to go PRO. I would love to be one of the lucky ones!

Well between the free and pro edition , the kid at school and their family gonna love the Ad-Aware Free Internet Security edition as long their personal computer or labtop protected from minimal damage cause by malware's or viruses.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware Pro is very good anti spyware software. The program is well equipped to locate existing threats, remove spyware and prevent future infestations. While not the overall best anti spyware software, Ad-Aware Pro is better than the average software, and much more effective than even some of the full-featured internet security suites when it comes to spyware removal.

I began to use Ad-Aware more than 10 years ago, which was a must for a long time. However, I have stopped using it for a couple of years. The recent one eats up my PC resource and slow it down a lot. I really miss the old one.

On another note, many security suites seem to include most of features I always wanted for a long time like a sandbox and HIPS, but I still want a feature like a VPN and Live CD OS.

I used to run the free version. I loved it. Fast and reliable ! Never got the chance to get the PRO. I run other full blown security soft. and the free version still get some stuff even the other can't catch. Can't wait to try the PRO, I'm 100% sure I will not be disapointed!

I discovered AVG in 2000 included in a PC Magazine's shrink wrap as a free supplement DVD. It removed numerous Ad-Ware and Trojans on the first runfrom my PC , to my shock. I have recommended it to my circle of friends whom had the same successes as I did.

I always used the free version with equal great success as I presume the advanced one, this as a result of the unfavourable US dollar exchange rate.

I had liked the free updates which was free and equally as good as any purchased AV available in South Africa.

It bragged about AVG FREE when it was rated number one above big name brands. Best to stick with the Specialists I'd say.

I've used nearly every security suite out there, and AdAware is unique. The low footprint, the comprehensive malware remove and the extra edge this software has on spyware makes Ad-Aware Pro Internet Security a good suite in my books.

A lot of other companies provide many additional features that amount to bloatware. Ad-Aware has all the essential features, but doesn't overwhelm you with options you will never use.

One side note, make sure not to have Bitdefender installed alongside it concurrently, because that software has compatibility problems.

What can I say but Ad-Aware is one of the best scanners for malware/spyware out there. Since they first started making Ad-Aware I have enjoyed using it. It scans and removes all those pesky items without harming your computer.

I am using adaware free along with immunet free. It is very good at detecting at malware specially spyware and does not slow down my system even when i use it along with immunet. Must have antispyware along with antivirus software. (*****)rating for spyware removal.

Add internet booster in toolbox. Also have your own servers to detect malicious websites.

I am an avid Ad-Aware Free user, having had it since almost when it was first conceived. I love the real time protection, and the fact that it catches problems other antivirus programs and rootkit "rooters" have not been able to do. If the free version is great, the Pro must be awesome!

Its awesome but it uses too much system resources.It detects many kinds of mlware that other antivirus softwares cannot do.I recommend this.

While Ad-Aware is not my primary antivirus software, its remains an EXCELLENT tool for removal of Trojans and root kits. I know this because I have been using it since 2009. That may not sound so long ago, but that's when I found out about it. Free software sometimes falls as bloatware, Ad Aware doesn't fall into that class, its Mustware!

I have been using Superantispyware for years, however after installing Ad-ware Pro I believe my Super days are over. Very nice program and it does what it says.

I don't usually use Antivirus or softwares like this, but maybe this one would change my mind! But from the looks of it and the positive comments I could say this one is one of the best in it's division!

We (myself, with a few close colleagues) were in the business for over 14 years, and along with most of our clients, have been using Ad-Aware for over a decade now.

It flawlessly covers it's own specialized area of security without overlapping or interfering with other needed tools, like the Anti-Virus and Firewall programs we should ALL be using (remember to also do your back-ups!).

Ad-Aware always runs in complete harmony with our other security tools. Which is important, because you really do need to supplement your anti-virus and firewall security with Ad-Aware. You'll notice that it catches many threats that are missed by the other tools you use.

Ad-Aware is unobtrusive, and effectively covers an area usually left unprotected, quite satisfactorily.

We only wish products like avast! anti-virus followed Ad-Aware's excellent example of leaving all final decisions up to the user, rather than insisting on over-ruling us when a threat is perceived.

We hate having to take the time investigating how to replace a needed utility once we had settled on using it. We've had to drop avast! anti-virus now, for changing too much, and straying from their original principles, and even though we no longer sell them, we still use our computers, and are glad we never had to worry about wasting our time with Ad-Aware.

We commend Ad-Aware for remaining a solid tool which we continue to rely on, and can recommend that you rely on it to.

I have used the free edition of this software before. The pro edition brings many additional layers of protection which makes the difference. Now with the pro edition, I say "very interresting" and i would like to get one of its licenses.
