I tried lots of downloading software but DAP really awesome , its an intelligent work . 10 out of 10.

the only download manager is "Internet Download Manager (IDM)"

DAP is definitely one of the finest free download managers around. I have been using it ever since I got my internet connection. As I live in a remote area, fast internet is still not available and DAP really helps.

But I am really shocked at softpedia review of DAP premium which says
"Advertisement banners are still present in the interface of the paid product."

Well i always used free dwonload manager for download a single or multiple files. But when i used the DAP for that realy the speed was awesome n resume sustem realy very benificial. I like DAP too much.

i am going on with DAP for last two years on my dial-up connection, first is is provide very efficient & resume service without any cost. i like its shred tool after download any files to remove unwanted junks.its premium version has many advanced tool which i like to use such as extreme acceleration, auto file shred & many more. thanks for giving an opportunity to own this premium downloader.

I don't know how fast it will be and how will it defer from the one I'm using right now. They always claim it could download much faster. It sure does knowing it uses multiple connection from the source. But what I would like to know too is how good it will incorporate to my browsers! Guess I wouldn't know not until I'd installed it on my computer. Anyway, good luck to DAP!!! Yep, you are right, I wouldn't spend a penny if I could use other software, e.g. Orbit downloader, for free and it does what it says it does.

I have used the free version of DAP for about 3 years, and so far I am very satified with it. DAP really accelerates my download speed up to 4 times, and it really helps me downloading big files without worrying the connection instability (which is very common in Indonesia), thanks to the resuming download service DAP offered. I'm just wondering what feature DAP Pro will offer, and I would like to try it (which I can't so far because the licence type is demo, meaning that unregistered one will be a free version one). I am on a 512 Kbps connection & I use Orbit, Free Download Manager and DAP on my computers. Each has its own advantages/disadvantages. Besides downloading files, I use them to grab videos/mp3.

Sometimes DAP is unable to resume downloads properly & it ends up corrupted, but in most cases it is quite fast and good. Browser Integration is great and even if itsn't we can still use flashgot addon for Firefox. I never use the FTP browser in DAP. The ads are a bit annoying but I am used to it. Even Internet Download Accelerator has ads, but its also quite good.

Wonderful giveaway and thanks for the giveaway opportunity. Please count me in. DAP is indeed a good program for download management with faster speed. Using DAP can download a file simultaneously from several sites, which is useful if a exacting site limits the download speed. With DAP, resume downloads is possible whenever we want and keeping our downloads organized. The thing that I don’t like from DAP: in installation process, will ask unnecessary toolbars and setting our default browser search engine, and e-mail recommendations. Indeed, we can opt out those options for a clean installation.

Would like to try the program since I have never used a accelerator that works with dial up

Very good software especially when it comes to downloading stuff on slow bandwidth like I have one of 256KBPS.

We can pause our downloads and resume them easily, as we can do in uTorrent. The software also cares about our security, and has an option to scan with our default anti-virus.

I would recommend this software to two kinds of people - (i) Who have low bandwidth limits (ii) Who have very high bandwidth limits and wants to control how much they want on a particular download.

DAP is the best software to download anything big from the internet without worrying for download limits n slow Network speeds. Free Version like FDM cant match its functionality. DAP is just wonderful at its job. I have the free version and I can only get 7 connections, but it's pretty fast. I just can't imagine the speed with 10 connections. And it's not just a download manager when you have the premium version. You can use their powerful trace cleaner and file shredder. And there's a multi-site & password management feature that is unrestricted in the Premium version. And of course, no advertisements and VIP customer support. And one question, do your product keys work with DAP Alpha 1o? Because I would love to download at super fast speeds and have addons for DAP like MAV scanner and the advanced download history manager. But one more thing, it's almost useless when DAP can only find 1 connection.

DAP and IDM are two downloaders which I prefer, although have tried so many. To be honest I prefer IDM on any downloader however DAP as a free version has given me most satisfaction. In IDM am getting download speed of 5 times and in DAP its 4 times. but IDM is trial. If I do cost to service analysis that means for 20.00% performance benefit I have to pay $29.95 (approximately 1350 in indian rupees) which is way too high. For me its same as paying almost thrice for a fraction of performance boost if i have to select Intel 2600k and 990E.

Featurewise both DAP and IDM have almost identical features (pause, resume, video dwonloading, security etc). Being a computer enthusiast I will surely be looking to try the paid version to find if its really worth the price. Anyways I am using DAP for my day to day activity.

I have been using DAP free version for last 10 years. I have tried lots of others, but this is the best. The resume function works almost 99% times, but at times if connection is interrupted DAP starts to re-download instead of resuming. The premium version will sure be better.

I am using it past around two years and having a free version. I am using free version with supported advt. and will be lucky if i get a license key........ In my opinion Download Accelerator Plus or D.A.P. is the best free option to speed up AND organize your downloads for all levels of users.
The free version has many options to customize how, when and where your downloads will be stored. As well as the option to downlaod a file regularly without using D.A.P.
My favorite feature is being able to download a file to the pre-set folder of my choice in one click. No more "Do you want to download..." and "where do you want to save the file...", etc. It also remembers the last folder used for saving a download. One click and the file is saved in my downloads folder.
The second best feature is the ability to automatically catogorize your download by type i.e. music, software, image etc. BEFORE a "one-click" download! The interface and options are easy navigate and set up even for a novice user.
My third and final favorite feature is the ablity to set D.A.P. to scan your download with your anti-virus software automatically (I scan my files with Malwarebytes) so you can feel a bit more secure that you are downloading a clean file.
The free version is packed with too many custom features to describe in just one article yet simple and effective to use. But overall I highly recommend and use D.A.P. over all other accelerators by a landslide. Five of five stars!

Like many others accelerators,DAP accelerates your downloads by creating multiple connections, Eg, imagine that you are downloading a file using your browser at 10kb/s. The same download will be accelerated 12 times by creating 12 additional connections to the file, that is 120kb/s.

So... what's the difference? well, here is their FTP feature, it creates an entire treeview without downloading or explore it. It is a good all in one Download Manager.

It also has a Video preview, but it never worked for me, i tried several times but... well maybe i have a different configuration.

Guys, if you do not get the free license but you like the features of DAP there is an app with very similar features (almost identical) go to the official page of FDM and try it

FDM is good but i found too much problems with "Windows Seven - IE9"...

Also it's "Check For Updates" doesnot works...

Flash Video Downloader is not working too..

Torrent Downloading Speed is worse too

Even it donot offer its latest (RC) version (v3.5) on its main download site (freedownloadmanager.org)... Its main site always contains "V3.0 stable version" (with all above bugs)... I always need softpedia and a software-update-notifier client to notify me about updates...

If you have the proper audio and video codecs it should work perfectly well. Let's say "K-lite codec pack" or some other.
Also: I use "The KMPlayer", which I found excellent, and from there I can preview any clip while downloading.

DAP free was one of the best Downloader I had tried ,but I had to let go because the annoying ads took up a lot of bandwidth.That's why I've always wanted to use the Pro version.I hope luck is on my side,this time.

DAP is a great downloading program, that is fast and easy to use. It (DAP) could improve on it's updating process, because updating DAP is a hassle. When updating, I am not sure if I am running the updated program or not. Even if you are running the latest version of DAP, it doesn't say if your DAP don't need to be updated, it just says a newer version of DAP is available.

Doh, I made a mistake. I update DAP and found out there is no problems when updating (must've used the old version of it). So I found nothing wrong with using DAP

True story: I've been using DAP download eccelerator free adition for three years now, updating it all the time. I tried so many other programs, but DAP stood out by far. The only reason that I did not buy DAP premium, is that I have problems buying online and cannot find the software, where I live in South Africa.

i used to download a lot of music & videos from net. for this purpose i use free download manager and DAP (trial).
downloads in DAP are very fast and have resuming capabilities. it can also download from file sharing sites which is not available in FDM. i hope, i could get a license.

i have use the free.version of this software i enjoy it if comparing to others.
the most important for me is privacy...
it respect my privacy, and it can also use with win 64x,, that's great,,,

Download Accelerator Plus is best downloading suite i have ever seen, where in i can download the required softwares for my system, videos, music, pictures.
This is an excellent download manger in which the music files, zip files can be previewed and the inbuilt virus scanning system scans the softwares, music files, every thing that i download through it, making my system clean and safe.
Even in Dial-up connection it boosts up the internet and downloads downloads at a maximum speed.
Its fantastic feature are an inbuilt virus scanner as i said u before, browser and an FTP.

I used IDM before, DAP has:
- Better GUI
- File shredder
- FTP browser
I don't really know much about DAP, as I never used it before. But from what I can see from the screenshots. It looks more neat and fresh.
It would be amazing if I can get a copy of DAP.

DAP provides a greater comfort for downloading files with good speed as well as scheduled downloads also helpful.

i think that DAP is the best because it improves my downloading speed from 26kbps to 45kbps which has reduces my time of downloading since people having high bandwidth won't give importance to it but it is important for me having only 256kbps bandwidth as i cannot afford that high bandwidth plans.its also good because it has a good graphical representation which makes it easy to use and also has a good feature that it has an FTP browser inside it isn't it great where will you find so much inside a download accelerator?that's why DAP is the best for me.

Speedup downloading to save time !!

I used Downloader Accelerator for years, but somehow, when I got a new computer, withWindows 7, I forgot to install it. Download Accelerator was so easy to use, and really speeded up my downloads, putting them into the correct directories (that I specified).

back here sooner that I thought I would. DAP is an "all times" favorite! I've used it a LOONNGG time ago, but I think I stopped using it when I could not integrate it with Firefox, if I'm not wrong! Anyway, this is not a problem anymore, so I'll try again. Although this post starts saying that "with increased bandwidth, plenty of people would gladly trim down download times if possible", which is very true, the ones that really, really, really need more this kind of utility are the ones that DO NOT HAVE HIGH SPEED BANDWIDTH, that is, we that live in developing countries, or people that live in the country side where many still must rely on regular phone lines and dilled up connections to be on Internet. On either place, high speed Internet is VERY expensive or nonexistent. For example, at home (Brazil) I used to pay almost US$ 15 a month for a 100 kbps connection and now, almost US$ 46 a month for a 1 Mbps connection. I have being using DAP free for like five years now. Its one of my favourite download managers. It will be great to use the premium version. I've always wished to.

I have a slow internet connection. It is not only slow but also the connection gets cut frequently. So i started to use download managers. The first was DAP Free.

It accelerated my downloads by upto 1500%. It also had a built in browser Flock which improved my browsing speed. I also use IDM. But I like DAP.

DAP has been a useful software for fast downloads as it increases download speed upto 3 or 4 times.It has been my favourite among other download managers just because of its awesome "resume download" option which is better than any other download manager i have tried(including much downloaded IDM).

I started using DAP some 6-7 years back. I was very much impressed by it then. I had a 56kbps
dial up connection then and using DAP really helped a lot. I always waited for the beta versions of DAP
then, so that I could use it for free. Then came DAP free version and I used it for quite sometime. The free version was ad-supported so I discontinued using the free version.

One thing which people forget to mention about DAP is the effectiveness and efficiency of it

The feature that impressed me most is that DAP allows to preview videos while they are downloading.Now I can check whether the quality of the video is upto my expectation without downloading it completely and thus be saved from the frustration of wasting bandwidth on videos of subpar quality.

Yes!!It really works in that way!!First I used the down them all(a firefox add-on).I downloaded a video in 10 minutes 23 sec!!!Then I used Internet download manger,it took 9min 53 sec.after that i tried the free version of download Download Accelerator plus!!!It Took 8 min 25 sec!!So,It really works!!!I will feel lucky if i got a licenses!!

When it comes about download speed I really have to rely on another software to do all my settings. Download Accelerator does this for me and I must say that I always had best results with the ability to choose the best download servers and the chance to resume your downloads. I am using the free version and I can say that the Plus would be a great chance for anyone to have on the computer.

Iam using "Free Download Manager" Software . But it's not working what it advertised. It's a good news about this download manager. I think i will get at least one license.

DAP was my first download manager when I just got my first pc. I am glad to see many significant improvement has been made over the years.

What I like about DAP is a very useful video accelerator. Also, the automatic monitoring speed boost is just superb. It is a feature rich download manager with blazing speed.

What I do not like is the toolbar but it seem that I need that for downloading web video. This area need some improvement. Toolbar is normally a redundant element to a browser.

Also, many additional privacy and preview features, i.e., shredder, trace cleaner, private downloads, zip & video preview are deemed not necessary. It would be good to keep it simple, light weight and focused mainly in optimizing maximum speed, grab web video effectively and support as many file hoster as possible.

Normally popup and animation just annoyed me and consumed unnecessary system resources. Surprisingly, not with DAP. I seem to like it, and the beautiful rainbow color as well.

What I curious is the extreme acceleration in the premium version. I wonder how does that work and how fast can it goes. Having a copy of the DAP premium would be a fabulous gift.

Download accelerator plus is one of the best download managers to have apart from internet download manager & free download manager.
The interface is simple and very straight forward. The memory consumption of the process called DAP.exe in my system running windows seven ultimate having 1 GB ram is 19 MB which is good. After installation the DAP resides in the tray .Ad-dons are added to both of my Firefox and Chrome which is quick to capture the download which I give and it does accelerate the download by considerable amount as I am using a dial able connection. It not only accelerates the speed but also helps to save a lot of time and power as there is frequent power cuts in our region and hence there is no need to restart the download from beginning.
Apart from that another thing which I like about the application is that I can adjust the traffic limit, the download limit, create batch file for download. Also I can schedule DAP to perform shutdown function once the download finishes.
One more advantage of DAP is its multi antivirus scanning after download finishes. Although it is not fool proof some thing is better than nothing.
One thing It lacks is the video download capability as that of IDM since we have to install a toolbar separately which only supports Firefox and IE and also consumes a lot of memory.
We can also make DAP to scan files using the antivirus solution present in the system once the download has finished, this feature is best for people who use free antivirus software whose real-time protection may some time miss a malicious download and will capture during subsequent scan.

Firstly,thankyou Softpedia for your generosity. This program springs us forward in the race for better programming BUT if you are a user of older equipment it may not benefit you as you obviously haven't kept up with technology.As for other users this is a beneficial and necessary download, the combination of essential "toolage" is ahead of it's time.
The ability to complete tasks so easily makes me even more effortless (and I don't have to be a computer geek to use it..Hooray!)

First thing first - I am using download managers(Accelerators) since 2009... I started with GIGAGET, not easy to use after that i shifted to FLASHGET a nice one i stick with it for more than 5 months after when at some point or other i am not very much satisfied with that product so i again changed my DM now i sifted to GETRIGHT DM after using it for 2-3 days i shifted to live downloader both getright and live extremely dissatisfied me, i seached for downloader at that time i introduced with IDM(internet download manager) it is a commercial ware but they offer a 30 day trial... and after using it i become a big fan of IDM... that was one of the best DM i used ever till that time but only one thing i dont like in it and that was its price tag.... after 30 day trial i searched for some free DM and i find one which is known as FDM(free download manager)i am still using it...

Now after reading about DAP(Download Accelerator Plus) from your give away i go to speed bits website and found that it has a good reputation in the market of downloaders i download it and installed its free copy on this sunday(19th of JUNE 2011) but after using it for just five days i am going to uninstall it from my pc because it loads their website and many adverts that i and many other users dont like especially those who uses Dial-up connections for accessing web....download speed of DAP is nice i experienced that it actually Accelerate downloading which is a good thing.... If i ignore the wasteful features of DAP like advertisements and loading their web site..... it becomes a good option for me...It is good that they show file info,ratings and reviews in their file rating website that was loads but they should include an option for user to disable it....

hi i love DAP it is not because iwant license it is because there is story behind it i am a college student and dont have high speed internet cause we little bit poor so we bring mobile net which is cheaper. i download everything from net for free but you all know there is disadvantage in mobile net its very very slow it give me min 500 bytes speed to download an max 2 kb then i was fed up of it songs and vidoes are ok you can download in mobile but computer software and games are heavy files 100 mb 512 mb and s0 on .so i cant download it with speed of 555 bytes it will take 1 to 2 day for a simple file. i heard about DAP i have free version the day i download DAP at the same day i downloaded spiderman free and foe demo game from softpedia games section i was surprised that is it possible is it true DAP gives me the speed of 16 to 17.8 kb speed to download and the game downloaded in 5 hours .but i heard that DAP PREMIUM gives 10 connection which means more speed so please i request you all that please give it to me i really need it please its up you its your decision to give it to needful or to player who have everything (fast net) thanks if you chose me so my email address is abdulla.gaddi@gmail.com i hope justice from you all A WELLWISHER ABY

When I first downloaded Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) I was unaware that this software would actually work. I thought it was some sort of scam that sounded too good to be true. However, surprisingly after using the free version of DAP it works well.

First things first the interface is simple and easy to use and when the software is started up, it displays all downloads in a simple list. You can filter these lists by using the side panel and select from several different options. For example, if you click ‘broken’ it will view all unsuccessful broken downloads. The interface is overall great and easy to use for any novice user.

On my rather slow internet connection, it takes around 3 – 6 hours to download a 500MB file and I only reach a maximum download speed of 49.9kbs. However when I used the free version of DAP I reached speeds of up to 130Kbs. I was surprised and rather happy to see this. The premium version promises to go even faster than the free version; but, I have been unable to test the premium version to see how fast it will go up to on my internet connection.

DAP also comes with some added bonus features, such as an FTP client and a file shredder. The FTP client is fast and reliable. On the other hand, although DAP comes with a file shredder it does not allow you to choose a deletion method and I am unaware how reliable it is, since I have no idea whether it uses the Random wipe method to delete files or the peter Guttmann method. This is not stated on the DAP site or in the software.

Overall DAP is very good and lives up its claims of faster downloads. I would recommend it to anyone who has a very slow internet connection (like me!) and wants much faster downloads.

I am a maths teacher and technology enthusiastic i use and suggest the dap is the best download accelerator available. i have my download speeds of 900bytes - 2kb only as my internet connection is very slow...but dap increased it to 9 - 10 kb. i use the net to download my study materials , question papers and small softwares.

But to download a 10mb file it takes 20min and its impossible to download a movie with this speed. i was in a very much need to get download accelerator plus premium to boost my internet speeds which would save time and help me get things finish for a bright future of my students... which would would help the nation indirectly... please please please please please please please please choose me for getting download accelerator plus { dap } premium please....

In the advertisement they say DAP accelerates download by upto 400%. That is false... Totally false. Because for me it accelerates even upto 2000%.

Believe me, at first i was complaining to my isp about the low speed for my internet connection. But after using DAP i forgot about that. The speed increased to 250KB/s from just over 10-15KB/s.

I just used the high acceleration mode in DAP Free and i wonder what will be my speed when i use Extreme acceleration of DAP Premium. One more reason i use DAP because my connection interrupts frequently because of voltage fluctuations throughout the day.

DAP is simply my favourite Download Manager. It has automatic mirror searching function which is not available in the download managers i have used.It also provides tools for shredding and securing our privacy.

Another interesting fact about DAP is its integration with antivirus. More provisions for using a proxy server, Always Resume function of premium, Zip file preview, Extreme acceleration speed, are the features i would like to try in DAP. Please give me a license as i really need one for improving my software collection.

I think this software works well when bandwidth go low...

It was the first download manager and accelerator I used in my life. Though, it is very good I had to switch to some other download manager as it was not free. Many cracks were available for it online but I didn't prefer those as they are a harm to the software.
