Speaking of things that start with ‘hub’, Softpedia is proud to announce the Mac download hubs, a feature designed by our developers to help users find software products that perform a specific task.

As noted on our mac.softpedia.com/hubs page, Download Hubs help you easily and quickly find software that performs a specific task.

However, Softpedia doesn’t just recommend the "best program ever" forcing users to take our word for it.

Instead, our Mac editors create a list of hand-picked software titles that can accomplish the task and you can make your choice based on your own criteria.

For example, you can employ our hubs to find software to open or process a certain file format.

Just type “play MP4“ or “convert 3GP” and hit the Find button.

The hubs themselves also needed to be organized in some way, therefore Softpedia came up with a list of browseable verbs/categories and associated each hub with one of them.

These include view, edit, open, convert, make, tweak, manage, create, play, security and clients. So, you’ll find hubs like “make SFX”, “Lyrics Managers” and many others.

There are currently over 1,300 with more added every day.

As noted above, the selection of the programs is not automated.

Rather than feeding you machine-generated content, the Softpedia download hubs are created and maintained individually by the editors.

To be clear - each hub is completely based on hand-picked software titles.

The hubs are currently available for users of our Windows and Mac sections.

As usual, readers of our website are more than welcome to offer their feedback, and to include suggestions as to how we can improve their experience using our website.

Go on then. Give the Mac Download Hubs a try! Don’t forget to come back here and drop us a line to tell us how you liked it.
