I want Ultimate Defrag to keep my hard drive tidy.

till now i haven't find a defragment tool that fits my needs. i still like the old defrag tool in msdos 6.22 ... too bad microsoft didn't make anything like that again.. the one that can place the files in the way i want, sort by name, sort by extension, maybe sort by size would be nice, or sort by the same files in the same directory?? i wish any developer will make something like that.

Currently I do not have any program to defragment my hard drive. I have used trial version Ultimate Defrag and was very effective. Quickly repaired the entire hard drive and the system worked much better. I was very happy but the trial period is over and now I can not use it longer. I love UltimateDefrag is the ability to regain the harddisk spaces which made up of old restore point. A very large volume of space can be free through UltimateDefrag. I'm using on my pc has somehow revive the pc which is low in harddrive memory. it speed up my pc. I'm using really a great application.

UltimateDefrag The interface is not particularly complicated, the point is located under the Options menu, where you can specify that the program is assessed by the percentage of frequently used data into the outer, fast parts, and what percentage of the so-called slow and archive sector.
Perhaps this is the best solution, because if only. Exe files are accelerated, they are still not sure that anything has been achieved, when the rest of the files being filled, which relies on the slowest part is available. The program advantage is that if we were not successful in automatic mode, according to our needs can be easily fine-tune the system. I really hit! Simulation of Defrag and scheduling are great option. Different UI looks good!

While using the computer there is always bulk of data to deal with, most of it in the background. Truth is I have never used this product, but then I have never won any of Softpedia's giveaways either, so what's the harm in trying?.

Defraggers are at plenty. But the one that outshines others is the Ultimate one. It is not just another defraging tool ,which you find everywhere. It defrags as well as it places your files inorder of access so that it is easily accessable without causing further fragmentation.This handy application is the dream of every PC user. My good wishes to fortunate ones.

When I first started using computers, I had no idea what it meant to "defrag" your computer. After installing and uninstalling lots of different software, I noticed that my computer was not performing nearly as well as it use to. I called a computer tech and one of the first things he recommended was to defragment my hard drive. It made a huge difference on my computers performance, and that was using only the basic defragment program that came with my operating system. I can only imagine how big of a difference a program such as UltimateDefrag could do to increase the performance of any computer! The best practice is to defrag your systems at least once a week for the average user, more often if your a power user like myself. Sure Windows has its own built in defrag software, but it is often unreliable and like most MS products, a bit buggy at times, so your best practice is to use a third-party defrag software to effectively keep your files, and your system, in perfect running order. Running SATA3 7200 RPM and USB3.0 You think I could get decent copy speeds? How is 1GB per minute. Ridiculous right? Tried to return system to vendor but they tell me I need to defrag more frequently. Proove me wrong.

Although my main drives run on the SDD platform and so don't need de-fragmenting, my 1 TB and 2TB drives do. I backup ever part of my system, every other day. I do a mirror of partitions to the backup drives and this causes much fragmentation. Most of my files grow, so they don't fit on the blocks assigned. Other blocks get assigned, but the chances of them being consecutive, are slim to none. To speed up any recovery processing, I always want to keep all of the data for a file in consecutive blocks. The process of doing this is called, "De-fragmentation."
You want to run the process as fast as possible, so as to not affect your other work. Ultimate Defray is in the top 5 products that meet this requirement. It's also the least expensive of the top 5 programs, and my "best bet!"

I was trying to use Defraggler, normally a nice program, but on my Win7 64 bit, but it just seems to stall and take a lifetime to complete, then still says the drive is fragged. I would love to try this program, knowing that my drives (all 6 of them!) are fragmented and slowing down my PC. Please help!

I been using Diskkeeper which suddenly stopped after attemping an upgrade. Hence, I searched you out to download your "ultimate" product. I think UltimateDefrag may be interesting for gaming because you can place all of one game's data on the same region of the HD (instead of having all of its pieces spread over it as other defragmenters does), and that may shorten the load times and stuttering that's annoying while playing.

Puts life into a slugish system crawling to boot and open the desired target.It is likea enerzizer drug to a weak system.Instal it and feel the difference.

Very Very happy birthday to softpedia once again. Today's give away is also very impressive. I had not heard about it. But, I tried its trial yesterday. It is really amazing and great. Earlier, I used to use only windows default defragmenting tool. But, later I also used Defraggler, MyDefrag, etc. They were also good. But, they are not as effective as UltimateDefrag. UltimateDefrag bears great tools and features. Thanks to DiskTrix for this great defragmentation and consolidation utility. After using this software my hard disk response became very fast. That's why it is known as World's Most Powerful Defragmentation Software. It helps in utilizing each and every bit of hard disk. Its graphical presentation is also very good. The hard disk seems to be a sun in this software, as we have studied about the internal parts of the sun, in our school days. It is really interesting. Most often, I use to run heavy load programs like Photoshop CS 5, IGI 2, Farcry, etc. And, I compared their performance after running this software, I found a great difference. Its hard disk scan time is very fast and it also defrags sooner than others. So, nice to hear about this great software for the first time. And, hoping to get one of the licences very soon...

While right now Windows 7 needs less and less 3rd party program as built-in functionality is adequate, UltimateDefrag is well, the ultimate tool for defragging.

What makes it ultimate compares to the other good program like Auslogic, Defraggler is the intelligent part that puts the often-used data in the best position for easier and faster access.

Not to mention the program is small and does what it do well and fast.

How can one possibly not defrag when life is full of unwanted necessities?

What a kick [anatomical reference deleted] program! I'm so tired of watching static screens, being able to watch the progress is great for we ADHD types. Oh, look that butterfly.... (cough) Ohh, "Ultimate Defrag" cleans a drive up nicely, too!

The first time use, I'm open UltimateDefrag program. UltimateDefrag is settings dialog opens and may recommend four presets. one of which disables Windows' scheduled defrags. UltimateDefrag lets my select an individual cluster on its disk map and view the files it contains in the left pane. Right-click one of the entries in the left pane to view information about the file, including it's folder path, start and end clusters and links to open it in a folder window or to defragment all the files in that folder.
In addition to the default Consolidation mode, UltimateDefrag offers modes for fragmented files only, folder or file name, recency, volatility and Auto. The various modes operate isn't clearly explained, although each provides a different set of options. I can list files to exclude from the defragmentation, adjust the performance settings, and choose one of four color schemes. While it's nice to have this many defrag options. Ultimate Defrag's abundance of features may be overkill for most PC users. If my looking for total control over my hard drive and other storage media, UltimateDefrag provides the tools you'll need to get a complete picture of my storage devices. It's want to keep my pc running smoothly.
I have useing UltimateDefrag version 3 of the utility on a relatively pristine 50GB WindowsXP partition and on a badly fragmented, both of which were split about evenly between used and free space. First, I run the Windows defragger on both pc. When the WindowsXP defraggers completed, Ultimate Defrag indicated that the XP partition was still 25.5 percent fragmented.
But this might be the motivation some people need to take it seriously. I like Ultimate Defrag to take care of the heavy lifting. It's easy to use and can take care of most of my problems with check the hard disks automatically or every week or whichever my prefer. Thank you to Softpedia very much.

After going through the pics I was facinated to give it a shot. Downoaded and installed 30-day trial.

The website needs better organization, very difficult to read, navigate and not at all soothing to eyes.

Below is the pic for my system before doing anything, just the analysis after installation.

I SET defragmentation mode = Fragmented files only (no other settings changed after installing)

It requires to do a hard disk speed test to estimate the defragmentation time. Test was done in 5 seconds. Simulation estimated time reported as 32minutes, with 40% resource usage, and it took 52seconds to give the results. Having said this, the CPU touched 96%.

At this time I just had 478Mb free space on HDD. So I cleared it to make 4.8Gb Free. See below my new results.

I again set the max resource usage to 80% and started the simulation. This time the Simulation estimated time reported as 11minutes. CPU usage was very minimal.

Please note that the time it shows in the status bar in the bottom, is reset once it starts
defragmentation, in other words it does not starts the time the moment we click start, as it would then also include the analysis time. Pretty good here.

While still going on:- the degree of fragmentation kept reducing, but the estimated time remaining started as 1hour 12minutes.

At 10%fragmentation- time elapsed=7min 36seconds, degree of fragmentation=24.48%, No. of fragments left=8497

At 20%fragmentation- time elapsed=14min 41seconds, degree of fragmentation=21.76%, No. of fragments left=6300

For above I noticed an absurd case where at one point of time the defragmentation was 19%, but then it switched back to 17%. And also the estimated time remaining jumped to 1187hours. See proofs below:

At 30%fragmentation- time elapsed=21min 24seconds, degree of fragmentation=19.39%, No. of fragments left=4530

At 40%fragmentation- time elapsed=27min 51seconds, degree of fragmentation=16.47%, No. of fragments left=1791. Proof below:

From the above facts and test on my laptop I only have words of praise for UltimateDefrag. I started testing with a mindset as yet another false claimed software, but it proved me TOTALLY WRONG.

It did everything what it said for, no further commensts from my side and no shortcomings. On the CPU usage also it max touched 49% and had no noticeable effects on my work. JUST AMAZING & SUPERB with EXCELLENT RESULTS!!!!

UltimateDefrag is one of the best defragmenter available on the market. In my opinion, everyone should have installed this type of application to keep order especially, taht a capacity of a storage devices increasing very fast. The second reason is that I can use this program to make my OS boot up quicker and programms work much faster. Thirdly, I drew attention to the the innovative interface, which offers this program - shows surface as a cylinder. What is useful for me the most is, that: UltimateDefrag for work needs only 1% of free space, can also move rare accessed data to slower area of the disk, analyzes MFT parts of directories combining together to accelerate performance and offers up to 33 defrag option combinations!

the best of Ultimate defrag is that its speed of defraging and provide many option to choose from for defragment process and also provide a scheduled facility, defrag facility for particular folder.

I'm using the trial version of UltimateDefrag and I must say that the best feature of this program is not how well it defrags, but how it optimizes data access by locating the most-used data on the outer tracks, because the linear speed under the read/write head is faster at the outer tracks. By consolidating the most-used data there, you greatly reduce seek times and can read data faster, improving disk performance. Also, by putting all of your important data together, the read/write head travels less, also improving performance. There is an automatic feature that locates your data based upon how recently it was accessed. Theoretically, the data that was accessed most recently or changes most frequently should be located at the outer tracks. The problem is that many anti-virus programs alter the access date of each file that it scans. For best performance, manually tell it to locate your Windows files and the programs you use the most at the outer tracks. Also manually tell it to archive (move to inner tracks) all zip and cabinet files (.cab) and other data you never need or use regularly (such as all of the Windows\&NtUninstall...$ directories, Windows\Installer, Windows\ie#updates, etc.).
Its an excellent defragmentation program and hopefully I get one free license too.

i used UltimateDefrag v1.29 since 2008.
this is awesome.
can compare with 2011 TuneUp Defragment,
it will more faster and robust.
if user know more pc knowledge, it useful for along time.

I don't have much idea about the defragmentation of drives but i have tried using the windows defragmentor but i am sure it must be a useful tool since softpedia is giving only the lucky 50 so i am taking a chance .. Happy annivarsary ... even without the free gifts this website rocks... :)

To be honest, I have not use any defrag software to help my HD work as it is before. I have read its description where it catches my attention to try it out but it has its prize.
