TuneUp Utilities - The best system utilities you can get. You won't find a similar utility for in-depth cleaning and performance reporting than TuneUp utilities. However the most coolest tool I had used in the program was the Customization of the Login Screen, I really couldn't stand the boring XP Default Login screen & with Tune Up Utilities help I was able to customise it with my own wallpaper. Overall a 10/10 product, havent managed to find a program to beat it yet.

Tuneup utilities is one of my 'super tool' to fix registry,icon and windows setting problem in disastrous situation(I would say it rarely happens but it happened couple of times before and tuneup solved the problem for me). I rarely use windows optimization tool mainly because I prefer to use my personal computer for office works and online but this is really an excellent tool that should be known by everyone as it's easy to use and efficient!

I have used too many system utilities but in all these applications TUNE UP UTILITIES stands tall.Though it contains too many options, it is total user friendly..easy to use. New function (Program deactivator) really keep your pc as of new one.....I think Tune up will become default program for system tunning since they are inventing new world innovative functions with each new version ......LOVE U TUNE UP UTILITIES.....

I am familiar with TuneUp since 2004. Since I only work with this program. Among the programs of a similar direction (Auslogics BoostSpeed, Glary Utilities PRO, 360Amigo, RegOrganizer, FixIt Utilities and more)

I'm using TuneUp Utilities 2010. It's working great in de-fragmenting hard drives and reducing registry size. I love TuneUp Utilities is the ability to regain the harddisk spaces which made up of old restore point. A very large volume of space can be free through TuneUp Utilities. I'm using on my pc has somehow revive the pc which is low in ram memory. With the function of reducing registry sizes, it speed up my pc. I'm using really a great application and I like all in one tool to clean, repair, maintain, tweak, enhance, defragmenter for fix my pc. it's live optimization probably is the most outstanding among all features as it is fully automated and efficient. while it is true that it never clean any registry entry or file wrongly so far. I hope to have the chance to win 1 license of new version to upgrade my 2010 version.

I've been using TuneUp Utilities since the beginning of the Windows XP era.
Aside from the functional value this suite brings with it, which Softpedia reviews have always pointed out neutrally (with pros and cons), the software also helped me learn.
It was about then (2004) that I started spending less time with PC games and more time learning how a PC really works. And, in all fairness, Tuneup pretty much covered all the basics.

I remember a time when all I did while online was reading about software, keeping up-2-date, customizing Windows.
For this task to go smoothly, the Softpedia site was my homepage and Tuneup Utilities was always at hand.
The two certainly gave me an edge in the countless situations when I had to solve an issue with Windows or customize a new clean installation.

Sadly, I then lacked the money to buy a license, and I now lack the time to rediscover newer versions at the rate I once did. While the software sections doesn't get all my attention nowadays, five other Softpedia sections are at the top among my daily news feeds.

Installed TuneUp Utilities 2010 last year. I'd like to say that I open it up and make system tweaks and optimisations every day, or even every week. I don't. I set it to automatic system maintenance when I installed it then just left it to do its thing. Its been totally reliable. Cleaning the registry, defragging files, and generally just making things run smoothly. Would be great if TuneUp Utilities 2011 does as well if not better.

PC tune-up tools are a dubious proposition. Often they make no measurable difference to performance, and when they do help it’s chiefly by removing services and startup items, which can be done without special software.
Yet TuneUp’s latest suite has a few unique tricks. For one, rather than uninstalling an application, TuneUp lets you temporarily deactivate it. Associated background services are disabled, reducing the load on your system, but when you launch the application they’re automatically re-enabled. This could be a big help on overloaded systems, but annoyingly it’s only a one-shot setting. Once you’ve finished using a program you have to go back into the TuneUp interface and manually deactivate it again.
Another interesting idea is community ratings. Most tune-up packages help you disable startup items, but it’s hard to know which files you need to keep. TuneUp Utilities uses a database of usefulness ratings, assigned by other users to startup items (and applications), to guide you in deciding which you need and which can be safely axed. But the benefit is limited: in our tests we found security and multimedia tools (often the biggest contributors to system slow-down) all had high usefulness ratings, leaving us in the dark as to which we should ditch.
One last distinctive feature is Turbo Mode, which you can activate from the system tray icon. Turn it on and numerous background processes and visual effects (configurable through a simple wizard) are temporarily disabled, to help your foreground applications run more smoothly. Turn it off and everything returns to normal.
TuneUp Utilities also offers the usual Registry cleaner, defragmenter and system analyser modules. These had no visible effect on the speed or stability of our test system, but the analyser did give us some good general advice about disabling shared folders and remote Registry access, and shutting down some unneeded services.

Imagine anyone bought a "Pajero" car but only getting the speed of "Tata Nano" out of it. Surely, it feels like HELL! It feels the same when my Dual core 2.3GHz PC performs like a Pentium II antic machine :(

Windows PCs have a inborn tendency to slow down as the time passes with its numerous unnecessary registry entries, redundant temporary files and other resource hogging stuffs. Therefore tuning up regularly becomes not an option but a necessity.

Few months back I used the trial version of TuneUp Utilities 2011. With a handful of tweaking options, it felt like a "Swiss Knife" to me. Especially for busy persons who cannot find enough time to go through all its 30 tools one by one, its 'One Click Maintenance' is a breeze. To keep my PC fine & dandy, it can't be any easier than this! Hope I will win a licence.

10 years: 50 Licenses? That's 5 for every year, one for every 2.4 months! Not bad!

An elusive TU 2011 giveaway on Softpedia! Where's my wit when I need it [scratches head]?

If copying really is "the sincerest form of flattery", TuneUp has nothing to worry about - being the de-facto standard in system optimization, its features are constantly analyzed and "utilized" [implemented] by their competitors - the introduction of similar to Live Optimization and Turbo Mode functionality to packages from other competitors, for example.

Functionality wise it's a swiss knife of optimization tools, which, if not as aggressive in their settings as some other competitors [e.g. IObit Advanced SystemCare], still deliver quantifiable improvement in performance.

The experience with ASC, for example, is not as organic as using TuneUp Utilities - there are a few discrepancies in GUI that detract somewhat from the otherwise capable package. No such issues with TU - the meticulously crafted UI hasn't changed dramatically, but the fastidious attention to every minute interface detail just underlines the overall dependability of the application.

There are some cons with TU 2011 too [nothing is perfect, but to me TU comes pretty close, doesn't it?]:
- Overall it is slower [to start and to interact generally] than previous versions and this was quite unexpected for me.
- I was disappointed to discover that using Live Optimization on a netbook actually negatively impacted the performance.
- Defragmentation is a fairly slow process, compared to other available tools.

About TuneUp . I've been using TuneUp 2009 for a while and am currently using TuneUp 2010.

I tested PC TuneUp Utilities 2011's ability to whip a PC back into shape by performing three tests—running the Geekbench system performance tool, measuring boot times, and transferring a 1.1GB folder of mixed media to external storage—before and after running the software to compare the computer's potency. Each test was run three times and averaged. Before TuneUp Utilities 2011 scrubbed the system, the Intel Core 2 Dio processor with 1GB of RAM, and an 160GB Intel SSD drive achieved a 5,903 Geekbench score, booted in 50.3 seconds, and transferred the 1.1GB folder in 40.5 seconds.
