Malwarebytes is great in scanning especially trojans. I am using its free version it impressive. Pro provide a real time protection and scheduled scanning option.

in last giveaway i have suggested that malwarebytes should also improve look of UI, like avast or norton it look quite simple. the reason is in today's world user use product looking at her packaging, looks, features. malwarebytes have best features now its time to improve look of the software.

Malwarebytes and Superantispware are the first softwares I install after a fresh installation of Windows on my PC or my friend's computers. Even my system image contains Malwarebytes. I take a backup after every clean install after installing Windows updates.

Flash scan isn't exactly gonna be useful if you use safe browsing methods, i.e downloading from known sources and scanning usb drives/dvds before using them. But in case your computer is infected, Flash scan can detect malware from critical areas. It is more like a mini version of the quick scan I guess.

The real strength of the pro version is its realtime blocking, not only blocks malware, but it also blocks bad IP addresses. I leave it on alongside Kaspersky and it doesn't slow my PC in any way. Auto-updates and scheduled scanning are quite useful, although I prefer to run scans manually. Usually a full scan once a month/ or a fortnight is enough for me.


The only drawbacks in Malwarebytes is that they do not support bootable disks and portable versions. It would be great if they added support for that. Could be very handy for people who clean infected PC's with a usb flash drive.

I would like to share a story with all of you.
Some time ago (I didin't knew MBAM then) we bought a new laptop and as most of new laptops this one also had only one partition on it's HDD (excluding recovery partition), so we have put all our stuff (wedding photos etc.) on our brand new toy.
My wife isn't a computer genius so she catched some nasty piece of malware which made our computer almost unusable. I was almost sure that we are going to loose all of our data, but them my friend told me to try MBAM.
"It will save your a.." he said and gave me his pendrive with free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. And he was right! MBAM did pretty well - malware was gone.
With this lesson I have learned a few things:
- keep your data on separate partition
- make backups
- use up-to-date antivirus software
and ALWAYS HAVE MBAM INSTALLED ON YOUR MACHINE!
Since then I always keep MBAM in my system as on demand scanner, but I would like to win a copy of Pro version to shelp my AV keep my data secure.

mbam sure is a nice piece of security software, it is small in size, but works like a mighty giant in pursue, locate & destroy the virus and other malicious software.
they placed the contents menu tabs of the software in a line which so easy to understand and easy to use even for a beginner like me. i can see the quarantine files, the log files; i can even delete them with ease. the settings also simple enough, and what i like the most is the option to enable or disable right click menu contents, that is great. so if i feel that the right click menu is too much already, i can disable some, all software should come with this option, this will help a lot.
so, please count me in. i want to get full function of this great av software, not just a free version. thank you.

Very good malware removal tool with one of the best detection engine on the market. Everybody should have it instaled even if only for the free scanning utility. The paid version is however an very good complement for an existing antivirus, ofering extra detection.

This is a wonderful software to detect and remove malicious software from infected computer as well as it can protect a computer from being infected through real-time protection. It also has malicious website blocking feature which is also spectacular. Best thing about Malwarebytes Anti-malware is that it can run alongside with any antivirus program. I've use MalwareBytes' AntiMalware program for a few years to clean infected computers owned by new refugees to Portland, OR area and have seen amazing results in that time. It certainly seems to catch many things other programs tend to miss and is overall better at actually removing them than most other commercial software. A great number of Burmese refugees now use the free cleaner version for scans and removal of items missed by other free protection programs. I'd like to think that this program has helped them to remain in contact with loved ones and exercise their newly gained freedoms without fear of breaking the computer due to shady sites.

I used Malwarebytes antimalware for the first time following my friend's recommendation when I discovered that my computer unable to boot up properly and unable to launch taskmanager and all other installed softwares. I basically can't do anything as my antivirus was disabled. a complete scan using malwarebytes in safemode solved all problems. It removed several trojans from my computer to make my desktop back to normal. a further registry scan and clean removed a warning that popped up after reboot( the warning basically about some files that unable to load during startup, it's highly possible referring to the infected file which had been removed by Malwarebytes.)Honestly, I have used Malwarebytes antimalware free edition since then though I never try Malwarebytes antimalware pro.I would like to win a malwarebytes pro license although of course, I am very,very satisfied with the excellent free version.

I"ve been using Malwarebytes free version for more than a year now which I downloaded from Softpedia,my first encounter with this program is a bit disappointing, my first scan shows a lot of malware running in my pc and I wonder why my antivirus did not catch those bad stuff,in my mind I thought it is one of the promo tactics by the program so that I will go for the paid version,but I have a second thought,why not give a try which I did,all the bad stuff has been removed and quarantined and it did not hurt my pc,following days I did the same update and quick scan and the program did catch malware but far less than the first one,I continue doing the process as the days pass by until one day it catches no more.That was the day I was convinced and believed that Malwarebytes really protect my computer because the incremental updates never fail though I have to do it manually and the quick scan is fast but reliable base on my previous experience with this program,how much more if I would be given the chance for the pro version,once again thank you Softpedia for giving everybody the chance.HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.

Hello Softpedia, thank you very much for puttting such a wonderful software in give away list. Today I am very happy with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO. I could not even imagine that such a tiny setup could do a lot. I had been using eset nod 32 previously. And, my pc had slowed down very much and today I came to know that few malwares were existing there on although there was eset nod 32. This evening I was searching for few softwares in google and fortunately I opened Softpedia and came to know about the give away. For trial, I downloaded the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO in no time and installed it. Then I got my system scanned with it. It scanned very fastly and I was amazed to see the result that 2 malwares were running in the process and few more infections were in the c drive. After removing them I restarted my pc and found a bit speedy. So, I would like to thank both softpedia and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO as well. So, today I realized that sometime even a small program can do great works that big programs miss to do. I also saw few more functions and features as well but majorly I want a good virus protection.

Without this program my computer would be infected, injected and disrespected with over 30 different types of malware. This was the second thing next to anti-virus that i put on my computer the day i bought it.

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is a life saver. Every time I get a new computer or hear someone got a new computer I tell them to download this program. Its saved my computer from attacks many times. Unfortunately I only have the free version but I have tried the free-trial once and WOW, what a difference. This is a GREAT program, I wont ever have another computer without it!

i actually gave this program a full version try few weeks back and really like to win a key. my opinion about this program from my tryout:
Pros:
-good detection rate(in my experience MBAM detected some websites which my AV didnt and WOT also had those marked as RED)
Cons:
-The exception list and rules editing was so basic, hopefully they will improve that.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a surprisingly effective freeware antimalware tool. It's a relatively speedy malware remover, with the quick scan taking about 8 minutes even with other high-resource programs running. The heuristics engine proved on multiple computers during empirical testing that it was capable of determining the difference between false positives and dangerous apps.
The app has some nice features rolled in, too. It supports multiple drive scanning including networked drives, context menu options including a scan-on-demand for individual files, and the FileAssassin option under the More Tools section for removing locked files. The interface is simple, but pleasant-looking and well-organized. Tabs live just below the oversized logo, with few options per tab to keep down the clutter. The installation process was fast enough, but interestingly offered up the well-kept changelog and an instant definition file update.
Do note that the real-time protection is restricted to the paid version, as is the scheduler for updates and scans. Overall, though, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a responsive malware remover that does what it should with a minimum of fuss.

Have never used the Pro version (has realtime scan, where the free does not), but I have used the free on a number of occasions & it has always performed well.

In each case, usage would be "after the fact", after the system has already been infected with malware.

In most cases, the Quick Scan mode (which is quick, & usually much quicker then competing products) is all that is needed. Often a reboot is required, but that is expected. And I'll follow that up with another Quick Scan.

Definition updates come down quickly at ~6 MB. You can even download manually & update locally.

Program itself is small (& in particular compared to some of the behemoths out there).

Well respected, often recommended around the Net.

It is not an end-all, nothing ever is, but if I were to have anything running realtime (as is I do not) it would be MBAM.

I am using the trial/free version but it does not provide any real time feature. I have to manually go inside and scan. Also no blocking of malicious webpages.

I scan every day to stay protected, as there is no realtime, so I never know if anything bad is in my pc.

It can be very helpful for me if you will give me a professional/full version license as Malwarebytes have saved me many times in the past when I got my pc infected. Having the full version with real time will be very useful and keep infections away from beginning. Also then I do not have to scan manually as it will do in realtime scan.

In my opinion, MBAM is a superb program, simply the best anti-malware. To me it’s a must have in what security matters, and I always carry it on my pen. From my personal experience, my brother recently had a problem with the internet connection, and asked me to see if I could do something. I’m no expert on internet security, so I started to run some well known anti-malware programs, like SAS. The problem was only solved when I’ve run MBAM and it found 7 issues the others had missed. I wish there was a portable version, so I could take it always and help other people. And it would also be very useful if the Pro version had some repair capability.
Another way to see how good MBAM is is the fact that we can hardly find promotions or giveaways. It seems the company really doesn’t need that strategy to seduce people; they just need to be effective, the best in their field. We could say that this is:

I like the simplicity of this program. I can't stand complicated and heavy antivirus programs. But I have never tried professional version witch offers proactive protection. If not for MBAM - probably my computer would be so infected that I wouldn't be able even to post this comment. If MBAM wasn't one of the best programs for the eradication any kind of computer pests - I certainly wouldn't write this comment. With such protection for PC in real time each would feel really safe - I've hope that finally I'll be so had.

I've been using Malwarebytes for about 7 months now, and it's hands-down the most thorough malware scanner I've ever used. I always do my research before installing security software, and from what I've read, Malwarebytes always comes out on top. It has detected many malicious files that my antivirus/supposed-antimalware program missed, and that's exactly why I keep Malwarebytes around. It doesn't just take a 'byte' out of malware, it devours it whole!

A top-notch feature of Malwarebytes is that its exceptionally easy to use. The interface is very simple--upon running the program, you have 3 choices: quick scan, full scan, and flash scan. Choose one, click the 'scan' button and you're off and running. Though I only use the free version, which really doesn't offer any notable configuration options, Pro users get the really good stuff, like real-time malware protection and scheduled scans.

The downsides to using Malwarebytes are very slight. First, the scan is a bit slow, though on its upgrade page it boasts "lightning quick scans". However, I chalk this up to Malwarebytes' thoroughness. I'll take accuracy over speed any day.

The only other issue I can think of is that it's a bit heavy on the resources when running a scan, and it slows browsing down, much like any other security program I've used. This could be due to my 3 year old laptop, which runs Vista, so maybe it's just me. I'm due for an upgrade.

In summary, I give Malwarebytes a big gold star and a smiley face. If it weren't for this program, I'm quite sure my PC would be full of all kinds of nasty creatures that my commercial antivirus decided were safe. Thanks again, Malwarebytes!

I've never tried the PRO version, have relied on other real-time protection and I've used MBAM FREE as an on-demand scanner only. After all, it has the same scan engine and AM functionality as PRO, the same user friendly simplicity and unforgiving approach to fighting malware.

The giveaway I was hoping for and being afraid of. Hoping for MBAM PRO, because it is revered by lots of people and having an universal tick of approval and being held in high regard doesn't come easy. It happens so often that my antivirus although able to detect a malware but could not delete it even after restart or in safe mode. As far as I have experienced, most antivirus programs are not that efficient to fight against malwares, trojans & worms compared to fully dedicated anti-malware programs like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO.

Ok. Last time I had done a full-fledge review for MBAM version 1.51, so this time I'm going to compare it with that.

2. It provides a Strong Real-time protection. I could say this as once I only had MBAM and nothing else installed for security. But my system was never infected. Touch-wood!!
3. Ability to select scan memory, startup, registry and file-system objects.
4. Protects from malicious sites/IP - also shows notification in tray-if you have configured it.
5. Ignore list for both the scanner and Protection Module - which I use to exclude scanning exes for drivers, OSs, movies, songs and few others stuff which are put my me.
6. Compatible with almost every Security Suite, such as Kaspersky, Fsecure, Norton, Mcafee, Avast as well as SAS and Outpost Firewall.
7. Windows right click context menu for easy usage. Could be disabled also.
8. Able to identify & stop new infections - they r proactive.
9. Good help in their Support Forum
10. Has Multilingual support.
11. It has command line support for quick scanning


Weak points/suggestions:

1. There should be an option to export the settings and ignore list. Currently there is no such thing available. So after reformat & installation, everything needs to be configured again. Additionally they could also put an option to export log files and database.
2. With MBAM installed boot time is increased to some extent.
3. No incremental updates causes waste of bandwidth. even for 1 update, it downloads the entire database. Last month their updates crossed 7mb I guess.
4. There is no 64-bit fully compatible setup. It installs in "Program Files (x86)".., runs as mbamservices.exe [32].
5. MBAM should update their exe for the database, even though there is no version update.Why:caz it helps a bit when there is a fresh installation & database would require a huge update for past 5 months & more....
6. When a scan is started - it hangs for almost 90-120seconds. Dunno why (on 64-bit OS)
7. There is no direct download link on the Developer page. Why can't they have one.
8. It did a scan on empty CD/DVD (E:) drive. How come is this possible? A bug? Screenshots below:

9. There is no trial for the PRO version to test the PRO specific features like Real-time protection, flash scan, auto-update.
10. Should spread the pause & abort scan buttons, as by mistake I had pressed abort a couple of times. So it would be easier to avoid such mistakes.
11. Should show the infected objects as & when found during scans. Not just at the end.
12. No help link in the system tray icon. So if I need help I have to load the GUI & then click on help. Long process.
13. Able to update the database (from system tray) even when a scan is going on. rather it should lock the database update while a scan is going on.
14. Uses upto 25% CPU while scanning. Data from Process Lasso>Active processes Tab
15. With MBAM version 1.51.2.1300 update the icon is not showing in taskbar. 64-bit OS. By icon I mean the MBAM logo/icon.
16. I would love to have a cool interface..hope so


In short, I enjoy using MBAM and trust it. Appreciate if the Developer could improve upon few items listed above. Overall - satisfied & recommend.

Hi,first i would like to thank you for this amazing giveaway.Malwarebytes is currently the best anti-malware software out there.The thing i love the most about malwarebytes is that it's an on-demand anit-malware so it does not make any problems with any of my other programs,including my AV.The on-demand scan is really light years ahead of every other products in the security department.Even if i have real time antivirus it sometimes can skip some dangerous threats,but when i scan with malware it finds all of them so it really is top of the art in malware fight technology.The second thing i like about malware is that it is very low on resources.The whole program is about 8Mb compared to others that is very small.Also it does not use lots of RAM when i use the scan.Malwarebytes is one of the most userfriendly softwares out there.As soon as u start u see the Quick,Full and Flash(only for pro members) Scan so you will now what to do.

Now, my opinion of MBAM. When I first installed the FREE version ,MBAM found on my computer a whole bunch of diseases from 75 different vampires, worms, small animals and these dinosaurs.
