This is a great product. I have purcased since the version 5, and when it grow up in the version 10 i see that the system was unbeliveble fast and stable. No infection was create from the side of the AV, but from the user side i was infected because of the stupidity to disable the security and install some obscure apps.

I'm using this software since long time, when Kaspersy was only an antivirus, not a security suite. I was always pleased by the performance, security level, easy of use of the Kaspesky software. Even if one of my computers, is an old one (buyed in 2004 ha...), I install on it few trial versions and never blocked my computer or slow down as other antiviruses or security suites, never... or open a lot of services/processes.
What to say about protecting the PC against all type of viruses, intrusions or other thisngs like this, you know very well this is THE BEST.
And for me Kaspersky soft will be always on my PC.

Kaspersky security suites are best in the category and you can install them and forget about security threats like Viruses, Malware etc. Kaspersky will work in background and you wont even notice that it keeps you protected.

Kaspersky Internet Security is a powerful PC defender, accused of consuming a lot of the power of the computer. The biggest rival for it is Nod. I think it is a perfect Defender with great features, but what i mostly hate about it is updating, it is always a big disturbance for a user not to know the size of the updates that he is going to download. What happened to Kaspersky Pure ? did they cancel the whole project, if they published another new version, I will definitely uninstall whatever I have and install Kaspersky Pure. They should clear their minds and depend on either Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Pure. They will lose the bottle among anti viruses if they did not give a full sport for one of these two.

Tough, simple and sensible security suite is one of the best defenses to ones pc. The suite though non intrusive has to be thorough on scanning. As many say it should be tough on viruses and simple on users. This is exactly what kaspersky 2012 delivers. Its predecessors showed many confusing popups which have been drastically reduced and simplified. Its cloud scanning and download reputations are good bonus. Its previous versions always left me confused whether a virus has been removed or not but kis 2012 has remarkably improved. I also like the fact that the main user interface is simple but kaspersky has not removed its advanced features for the sake of simplicity as many other brands have recently done. The geo-filter is one of the best extra addons. I just have two problems with kaspersky 1. Many a times it downloads humongous updates of about 40-50mb which for me on a dialup is too much. 2. Its url scanner has some problem working on my pc. I hope kaspersky improves.
All in it is a top notch suite and is cheap(acc to INR rates)

In addition, it is one of the few AVs the notify users when it is unable to see true contents of file and corresponding malicious code; due to custom packer, password protected archive etc... that being said, it pleases everyone from the basic user to Security Experts. Avtest.com recently put in top 2 spots along with BitDefender. Another thing I like about this AV is it correctly classifies malware; less generic classification, and cracks for software are labelled "Hack Tool", and Not "Backdoor" unlike every other stupid AV out there. Remember also, that Russia is one of the top Malware creators, and correspondingly the author of this Antivirus suite. So ya, it's gooooooood. I've only seen version 2011, 2012 I hope extends to more than making it harder to reverse engineer to source code (which was released behind the scene for a previous version of Kaspersky) and valid key abuse. It will likely contain more unpackers, fine tuned algorithms to increase speed and narrow in on unknown malicious code. Last but not least, anyone can send in malicious samples and have priority service. Only a core fan would know all this stuff.

My first Cyber-steps in the software world was with Cnet, after a few years i discovered Softpedia, at the beginning it was an alternative, now Softpedia is basically the site where i go when i want to find new software.

1. Parental Control: Password protecting the settings can be very useful if your PC is shared with other members of the family and friends. This ensures that they can't mess with the anti-virus or remove it.

2. Bootable Rescue disk: Allows you to create a bootable rescue disk which also works from a USB drive. In case disaster strikes, this disk can be used to remove infections from your PC. Now, many of y friends aren't tech-savvy to clean their PC's, this could help me in doing the job for them

4. URL Advisor/ Virtual Keyboard: Though the addons are currently incompatible with Firefox 7, they are very useful when available. URL Advisor helps in surfing search results safely, while the Virtual keyboard could be useful for online banking and prevent keyloggers.

Kaspersky has been the "IT" antivirus/security software for the past years for me. Some find it heavy on system resources, some find it good, some find it decent. This is my personal opinion about AV software by Kaspersky, definitely one of the best in the market. Even in my country it's the only and I repeat "the only" antivirus software that's got its very own TV commercial starring Jackie Chan and Malaysia's no. 1 badminton player, Datuk Lee Chong Wei as their local ambassador. So is it my top choice as an AV software? Definitely not... maybe it's the third or fourth choice if I had to choose.

Here's why and just 1 big point to summarize it... heavy system resource usage. So how the heck that Kaspersky turn's out to be popular? Even one the top search keyword in warez or torrent sites. It's a no brainer... simply due to its powerful AV and heuristic engine and plethora of functionality (in the Internet Security version). KIS provide parental control, sandbox environment, spam and firewall protection and even identity protection mostly for sensitive information such as online banking and social network.

But please don't get wrong, does it mean that Kaspersky based AV or system security software are not reliable? Definitely a big No. We have to understand that in return for one rock solid system security protection there's some sacrifice that had to be made in terms of performance. Maybe it's not a big problem for a computer with state of the art hardware, for someone with a tight budget like me.... definitely it will choke a little. I am honestly saying that I bought a fully license copy of kaspersky AV. I was disappointed through because it update module failed to update its virus engine. I rely on my dial-up connection. So I send it back where it was come from and got a refund. Now I have a license copy of avast! anti-virus. I love avast! AV. However Kaspersky is also a good AV. I recommend this product to others! But for me it is not good.

Well Kaspersky is, in my opinion, the most stable and secure antivirus software available at this time. I already own a license for more then 3 years, and participated to a few beta tests also, and I must say that I'm amazed on how good they evolved over the years.

At the end of the day no anti-virus solution can protect against stupidity, knowledge is indeed power online too, but Kaspersky sure does a good job at it. Kaspersky Internet Security is pretty straight forward to setup, the user interface is beautiful and clean. It updates seamlessly in the background, there's also a "game mode" which is automatically enabled whenever an application runs in full screen. The firewall is alot easier to handle than the standard Windows firewall, well it essentially handles itself. The Kaspersky Security Network acts as a last layer of security against unknown threats, it notifies you on how the community (presumably Kaspersky users) have responded to the "potential" hazardous application/software you are about to start, it's a pretty neat concept, especially for us who maybe less familiar with computers and where a simple "Warning this may cause harm" aids us absolutely nothing.

Kaspersky Lab constantly providing their best to protect your gear from any kinda threat. KIS 2012 is the best security suite I've seen comparing to other AV. Its scan engine is much more excellent and moreover it doesn't take much resources. And the size is also not pretty big compared to Bit Defender Total Security 2012 or Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2012. And frankly speaking, the UI of Kaspersky is the best than any antiviruses in market. KIS 2012 integrates a Cloud Technologies which makes it even more powerful and users obviously will like it. I don't know why Bit Defender Total Security 2012 ranks top by AV-Test. But to me, its Kaspersky at top.

Im using Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and I feel my self in secure. I think kaspersky is the right security program for me. but Im using illegal license key for keep my computer update againts to malware's. Im using illegal key coz Im not working and Kaspersky license is not cheap for me. if I work with good salary I'm pretty sure Im going to buy legal license. but untill it will be very nice to get a license from "Softpedia 10 Year Anniversary" giwe away.

Softpedia is just a software downloading site like any other right..well its a bot more than that. i use a Dial Up connection n yep the speeds are very slow.. i wanted to download AVG Free but in its official site i had to download the installer first i since AVG Free AV is like 170 MB, for me it was an impossible task with my Dial Up. But this is when Softpedia came to my rescue. I drowsed Softpedia for AVG Free AV n i got it. The best thing was that Softpedia offered the Whole AVG Setup file in .exe in a single bundle n i could easily download it with Download Accelerators..Softpedia u guys saved me n my PC..Thanks a Lot..

Hello! First, I want to congratulate the ten-year anniversary Softpedia! And I wish and prosperity, always use this resource and find many interesting things in it!
Now, about this proposal. I'll be honest - this antivirus I was only there in the past year with the month of August. And all this time I find only positive things in it. First there was KIS 2010, then KIS 2011 - now I downloaded a thirty-day trial version (which will end velocity) KIS 2012 and if I am among the lucky ones, it would have been glad to get a code for themselves.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 far exceeds all other antivirus programs on many characteristics: parental controls that allows you to configure the program so that children have only used the fact that parents are being allowed - it is very convenient, then hybrid (cloudy) protection from which the computer has truly become much faster and easier to perform all acts fast downloading anti-virus (only downloads the necessary databases, without draining the whole file, which reduces traffic) increased the speed of scanning your computer for viruses at times, easy operation and allows you to not be distracted by this kind of problem.
I'm not afraid to go online because I know that if the site contains a virus, KIS 2012 will detect it immediately and then told me about it.

KIS I can only say the best about this product, as I had years back tried KAS and was told by my computor store friend not to buy KIS as it would slow my machine, but with KAS one still required a firewall, so that being said the following year I bot KIS (didn't slow my machine) and have been for the past years (on 2 machines now) I like it it does a great job. I remember that I start using Kaspersky since version 5 - it was during faculty- and I was loosing time to find a crack or a valid key (sorry, but this is the truth :D ). This is Kaspersky's top notch product! It's an "all in one" - which in my opinion, for a security program is a good thing - one does not have to think about all these virus, and firewall, and trojans, and e-mail threads, and fishing, and spyware, and the rest that I don't even now what it is or don't remember or even know exists. I don't care if it is a big download or if it uses a lot o computing power. If I had to install individual products to address each one of this problems the final result would be worse for sure! Kaspersky started as a good product, became great, lost itself after that becoming bloated, slow, unreliable, consuming high computing resources, that is, just one more in the pack! And now is returning with all glory with this new line of products which started with the 2011 version. A much lighter and intuitive GUI, faster and non interruptive operation, and LOTS of different and useful tools. We don't even need to use Sandboxie anymore and can create a recovery CD in case disaster happens. Several other functions like task manager, network monitor, privacy cleaning, browser configuration ( only for IE - pity ), windows troubleshooting and even parental control are there! Anyone deserves such a complete, trustful and useful product. Unfortunately Softpedia has only 50 licenses to giveaway, and I hope I'm one of the lucky winners!!

Thanks for organising this giveaway. Kaspersky is one of the household name among those Internet security suites and antiviruses. I used the trial version about two months ago. Big interface change but the protection quality is still solid and trustworthy. While the setting panel has not much change from last version 2011, it totally changes its main page. It seems to scan faster and has lower impact on system compared to the previous version. Firewall is still silence and powerful. The most remarkable improvement is the function for us to inspect the reputation of a file from right-click context menu using the kaspersky cloud technology. It shows the rating by other users and can even show the percentage by countries. This helps me to decide whether to run a suspicious file. However, I think they might need to improve the link scanner. It does not work all the time for me, especially when I am using opera browser. It also seems unable to scan facebook link and there is not much option to tweak the link scanner like the ability to classify the types of link which Avast has. I rarely use its extra feature except for scanning system security and browser security when I first ran this suite in my computer. Again, not much different from previous one. However, how good if it can make its sandbox to fully support the 64-bit system? I really anticipate that, though for now, I am definitely like its silence and solid protection.

first of all very happy 10th anniversary . i have been downloading different type of software from softpedia ranging from linux based to windows common utilities ,mobile soft etc . the main thing i consider downloading a software is it's license free or shareware so on and in the last trial versions for somewhat period . it is been great offer for users like me to take a chance for free registerd software especially of system security kind as i like surfing and downloading . As far as Kaspersky , i have used its client licence comes with my private billing soft. i think kaspersky is good in security of my pc as i disabled windows firewall after installing it , moreover it virus control and update is quite well . as far malicious softwares its normal . one thing i like to mention that it makes multitasking a bit difficult . after all i find kaspersky class one antivirus and internet security software.

First of all my heartfull thanks goes to the Softpedia Team for offering KIS 2012 as giveaway. It is one of the best oppurtunities in my pc life. I am a normal pc user. I use to open softpedia website from time to time to download a lot of softwares. But today I was surprised to this oppurtunity.
Now talking about Kaspersky, I am a great fan of it since I bought my first pc 3 years ago. That time I firstly installed Kaspersky in my pc and my pc remained safe until finish of trial period. But after that I had to uninstall it and then I tried other antivirus programs as well but I did not get satisfied as Kaspersky. Due to money problem I could not purchase a licence of it. From that time I most of the time face lot of problems in my pc. But, however I install deep freeze and cpe17 to protect to some extent. But this does not provide 100% protection as Kaspersky does. Some time even I play some tricks, I use to install various kaspersky new products from time to time interchangeably as the trial period expires. With in these periods I feel very secure. But, I never use cracked Kaspersky. Because it is one the greatest mistakes one can make. We should always use genuine anti virus product. I have a mentality that I will run a genuine KIS licence rather than a cracked one.The above are the perosnal talks and feelings about me and Kaspersky.But according to the competition rule, the main focus should be on KIS 2012. So, the following are comments regarding KIS 2012.
Very recently I had used KIS 2012 that is a outstanding product created by a world wide known antivirus program company i.e. Kaspersky Lab. Yes yes, KIS and KAV up and down, best tool on the market and so on. But can Kaspersky cure or protect you from the most dangerous virus there is? The root[worm] of all evil, the virus of religion. It spreads like a viral meme, infecting the mind when you are most vulnerable or young and inexperienced, urging you to have a lot of children that can be infected also.

The religious virus can replicate itself through various ways: USB (Usual Study of the Bible, in digital format, plug and play for every hole), email ('send this blessing to 10 people in the next 20 minutes or else you'll get hit by a car in your 40s'), CD copying (which contain trojan-like entertainment like religious black metal music and religious punk music and religious cooking recipes and 101 ways to deal with your business in accordance with your religion) or social networking (for example you can't give a 'dislike' to Jesus' facebook page).

It's been a long time since I firstly heard of Kaspersky security solutions. But even, as of now, it is know as one of the best and unbreakable software solutions on the security market. Currently I'm running Kaspersky Antivirus 2012, the trial version actually which will expire in about two weeks. I'm pretty impressed, it has almost no impact on system performance. I'd compare this aspect to Avast Antivirus.

On the other hand, the detection rates are really good (mostly better than for other solutions). I've had no problems so far since with Kaspersky.

I'd really like to win one of the Internet Security licenses you offer. This suite has got silent firewall, nice feature not included in the Anti-Virus suite.

Another new feature ( which sounds interesting ) is the connection to the cloud, I have first met in Panda's free Cloud Antivirus, also may provide some additional security layer for 0-day threats and other unknown malware samples.

Also another good point is the simplicity of the UI. On the main panel we have quick access to all the main functions of the application, so we can resolve everything really simple. The advanced settings and fine tunings though, are hidden a little deeper in the settings menu. At first I found this a little confusing given the large number of settings one can change.

Afterall, it is a good software solution that could protect anyone from online threats. I'm not afraid anymore to navigate to any site I find, or to click any link that one sent me on chat/messenger.

In version 2012 I found everything I was looking for- best performance and great detection. I like it because the interface is friendly and don't slow my laptop. I will share with you what happened with me before one year. I made a fresh windows install and wanted to try something different- like Avira.But...something happened- for one week my computer became slow and infected with a lot of viruses. Then because I had not enought money to make another fresh windows install- I installed KIS 2011. And guess what- KIS deleted all viruses and the system became as new. Now, my opinion of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. When I first installed the demo version ( in my opinion it was version 7) Kaspersky found on my computer a whole bunch of diseases from 75 different vampires, worms, small animals and these dinosaurs.
At that time I worked with Northon Antivirus and thought it was excellent protection program PC. (probably because I bought this CD for 60 €)
Now I trust only Kaspersky, although from time to time I test other antivirus software.

First time I heard that Kaspersky pig squeal I just about fell out of my chair.

I was first introduced to Kaspersky products around 2004 I think it was. At the time I was using Mcafee antivirus on my two computers, and viruses and trojans were getting through. I bit the bullet and took a chance on a not so well known security company from Russia.

I installed a trial of Kaspersky antivirus on one computer and the other computer still had Mcafee antivirus on it. Came home one evening from work, and my son told me that his computer was not working right. I checked it out and sure enough it was infected very bad. Mcafee could detect some of the infections but could not do anything with the infections, and then Mcafee just eventually crashed and got corrupted.

My computer had been on all day since my wife had been using it. I just knew it was going to be infected too. Opened the Kaspersky logs and it had blocked 29 attacks that came across the network. Ran a full scan, and it was clean. I knew from that day forward that Kaspersky was heavy duty stuff.

I never heard of Kaspersky, who they are? :)))

I have been a fan of Kaspersky products for the last several years. During their early days they were known for updating their virus definitions several times per day while most other antivirus companies updated once per day at most. I likened the rapid increments of Kaspersky updates to a marching Russian army, fighting malware, one wave of ground forces followed by another. Kaspersky was also known for their "anti-banner" in their firewall, which used to be sold as a separate product. I miss those days. But the basics of Kaspersky's rapid updates and banner blocker still exist while the product has also evolved to fight new threats. Internet Security 2012 continues a long tradition of top of the line security software made by Kaspersky.

First of all I’d like to congratulate softpedia for its 10 year anniversary, this page it’s almost every time the first I visit when I want to download something because it has a lot of things, it’s safe and it’s fast, I hope you have many more anniversaries.

Kaspersky is a very well known security company for a good reason: its products are outstanding; you can verify that with the high position of Kaspersky on most of the antivirus tests there are on the internet.

Why I would like to win KIS 2012? First of all because I know that by using this security suite and some common sense I can keep my PC free of virus, spyware, malware, etc. thus protecting my valuable information and privacy. Here are more specific reasons why I want to win:

*KIS 2012 has one simple and understandable GUI yet it’s nice. KIS also provides a desktop gadget, I’m not a fan of those gadgets but I keep KIS gadget because you can easily check the status of the protection and launch some useful activities like update and safe run.

*Safe run is another great feature when you want to test something possibly dangerous but you don’t have the time or the resources the software, the disk space, the setup to install windows, etc) to do it on a virtual machine.

*Like one video I watched on Kaspersky web page says, hybrids are awesome, with the cloud protection you can expect a faster response to new threats and it allows you to check the reputation of files, even if you don’t completely trust a file after checking its reputation with KSN you can use safe run to prevent damages.

*I’m not an expert and find difficult to give an opinion about the effectiveness of the firewall included on KIS 2012 but I’ve read it indeed is a good one.

Some of the features of KIS I don’t know about are the parental control, the anti-spam because I only use webmail (I think that’s the name) like gmail or hotmail, the anti-banner because I use add-ons for that purpose. Still I’ve no doubts that they can be great features for those that really use them.

I think, KASPERSKY - the best and most successful product of vsezh antivirus programs. It provides the best protection, does not pass the virus, and in case of system infection restores all so perfectly that not even tell that there was a virus. Mains filter does not transmit the virus from the social networks, and all other components are well eliminate the virus. Also, the technology of cloud security solutions which prompts the user to take better in certain cases. A task manager is very well organized activist anti-virus.
In terms of features - very optional, flexible, and simple. Load on the system at least gives (although it modzhno adjust the settings) but it's worth, and in the Number of all the pluses this minus lose all your chances.
And with the release of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 - it is also beautiful.
In general, in one word - better and safer not to find.
and even higher price for the license program, Kaspersky Labratoriya and brokers often hold shares through which you can save a good idea.

many years now I have used a lot of free antivirus. sometimes I used some commercial software that had a 1 year offer.
everywhere was mentioned that kaspersky is the best or one of the best anyway, but all offers that I found where for 30-60 days.
I never had free time to change antivirus so often, so I never tried Kaspersky so far.

I would like to be entered into this promotion for the following reason: I have been a long time user of Avira but find it tends to slip every now and then..so I need a new antivirus. I use Zonealarm but it can get on your nerves some times with all the pop ups. So I need a security system that will keep me and my kids safe while we play online. Coming to Kaspersky security suite, it is easily one of best security suite availiabe. The thing which seperates it from others is that it seems to have mind of its own as it detects and stops all types of web attacks on its own and doesen`t confuse novice users with false alarms. One of my personal favourite is virtual keyboard. It also doesent seems to hog the resources of pc. I am really impressed with its performance so far.

Kaspersky is the "king" computer security! Have the chance to use KAV2010 and am very pleased with the protection. Really would like to have a chance to have an all-in-one security like KIS2012. Parental control is superb! I hear the Sandbox is great and really effective in it's mission. Had the chance to see a video and I see that the network monitor provides a detailed view on what’s going on up all your network traffic. Virtual keyboard protects you to safely enter logons, credit card numbers and other sensitive data, bypassing keyloggers and wow privacy cleaner! Gadget's improved! * ! Very good catch!
